But, by the grace of our Maker, (and a wee bit of luck) we'll give it our best shot.
Can't ask for more than that, right?
So...buckle up, boys and girls, and get ready for another "wild ride" (as Mr. Toad would say).
** From the "Wake Up and Smell the Cordite Burning Department":
Now what's one of the FIRST things YOU like to do when you get up in the morning, hmm?

One person however in Fort Wayne, has come across something a "little different" when it comes to "rise and shine"...
((Barricaded man surrenders to police/The Journal Gazette
Dean Musser Jr./The Journal Gazette
A man Fort Wayne police believe may have been barricaded in a house with a gun for three hours surrendered this morning, police said.No one was injured and no charges have been filed in the incident, which remains under investigation, police said in a statement.
Police said they responded to an unknown problem in the area of East State Boulevard and Terrace Road about 4:15 a.m. They said they found there may have been a person armed with a gun in a home in the 100 block of East State, and there was a report he had fired a shot inside the home.
The man refused to speak with police at the scene, and the Emergency Services and Crisis Response teams were notified, the statement said. It said several attempts to contact the man received no response.
At 7:10 a.m. the man surrendered peacefully by leaving the home, police said.
They said he is being evaluated at a local hospital.))
Now I have to admit, that's not of the FIRST FIFTY things I prefer to do when I crawl out of the sack, but whatever works for ya, right?
And, YES...PLEASE EVALUATE this man...seems he's a "tetch" off kilter somewhere.
** From the "Heroes R Us" Department":
((Southern Calif. man called a hero for rescuing 3-year-old girl from burning SUV on freeway / Associated Press
LOS ANGELES - The California Highway Patrol is calling a Southern California man a hero for rescuing a 3-year-old girl from a burning vehicle on a Los Angeles-area freeway.
John McDonald of West Covina was driving on Interstate 10 in El Monte Wednesday when he saw an overturned sports utility vehicle engulfed in flames.
Video footage shows him running to help as three people who escaped the burning SUV ran away. The CHP says the driver of the SUV shouted that her granddaughter was still inside, and McDonald went in to pull the girl out.
Both were treated for minor injuries.
McDonald told KABC-TV he jumped into action because he felt it was "something that needed to be done."
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Mr McDonald also said in another interview that "It was the RIGHT THING TO DO".))
West Covina's got some great people, (even for Californians), so my hat's OFF to this savior of the highway!
** From the "If It's Broke, Find Out WHO Broke It" Department:
IBM (you remember THOSE guys...the "computer" people?) is looking into "fixing" the problems in the (privately run) WELFARE system in Indiana.
Here's the link to the whole story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20090724/LOCAL/307249992

The system WORKED (and damn well) when it was initially instituted. But, after a time, a lot of (lazy) people got to LIKE this "alternate lifestyle", and therein was the REAL problem.
NO real measures were implemented to get these lowlifes OFF the dole and into some type of PRODUCTIVE venue.
It rapidly became a "role model" for all future "entitlement" programs across this nation...payed-in-full by YOU, the taxpayers who ARE busting your stones eking out a living, while "they" laugh down their food stamp book at you.
And to piss and moan about waiting in lines or holding on the damn phone...you, the LAZY recipients, (not the people who TRULY need this, lest they starve) are getting all this shit for FREE...so STFUS (shut the f*ck up, stupid) and LIVE with it.
Good luck to IBM...they're gonna NEED it.
** From the "If You BS Them, They Will Follow" Department:

Now here are a few links to stories that back all this up:

This one has a video from Glenn Beck:

Other nations wonder WTF is going on...and that should be sending up red flags (hopefully none with sickles and hammers) all over the place. Time to step back, people, and take a GOOD, HARD look at this "agenda" of the President.
It's gonna cost...and cost us BIG, and more ways than the almighty dollar!
** From the "Book 'Em Dan-O" Department:
Remind me to NEVER attend Harvard...in this life, or any other one.
This link details the entire story about a Harvard Professor (who was black) that was arrested from breaking into his own house.
http://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/news/national/dpg_cop_who_arrested_gates_not_sorry_fc_072209_2697765 There is video included, and it's a good watch.

It's all about ragging on the police, these days...UNTIL someone that's been dissing them really NEEDS them...then, all becomes miraculously forgiven (until the situation is over, then it back to disdain once again).
Leave that rhetoric back in your 3rd world country, moron.

Lastly, we're seeing all those school sales about...time to "gear up" the kids for more learning.
In some areas, LVL III body armor might be required (if they make it that small).
Rest assured that your little ones will soon be back our of your hair, and hitting the books again.

You can ALWAYS hope.
Have a great weekend, and...
Stay safe out there.

You know, about that dude barricading himself in his house... I REALLYYYYY wonder... did he just wake up that morning and say "wow, I'm bored, I think I'll do some redecorate with a rifle." And lock the doors because he didn't file for one of them builder's permits? When I wake up in the morning, that's certainly not the first, second, third, or even forth thing that would go through MY mind!
Also, KUDOS !!!!! to that Cali man for saving that little girl. That's two of them similar situations that has happened this week; remember the one in Milwaukee, WI the other day, those two off-duty firefighters saved that 4 yr old boy from (yes, an SUV) that was overturned and in flames? It seems like them sort of situations are legitimizing people's apprehension for wearing seatbelts, not that I would recommend NOT wearing them, but I can somewhat understand people's uh, "fear" of the concept of being forced to, instead of choosing.
Also another thing got me thinking... about the "race issue." You ever notice, (or is it just me) that only white people can be responsible for being racist? And it's mostly the blacks crying racism, and that it's the white people's fault... I think there's a lot more acceptance when it comes to race, culture, ethnicity and diversity now days than 20 years ago, but them black folk wanna hold onto that wild card for as long as possible. They want their special treatment. It makes me mad, it's like "yo, your great great great grandpa might have been a slave, BUT NOT YOU, so GET OVER IT!" Then again, that's just MY humble opinion. *sigh*
GE:
Whew...I was wondering if everyone was on vacation...didn't see any comments for a few days...lol!
The trouble with ANY issue regarding race is that it is almost ALWAYS painted as a "one-way" street...and YES, you nailed it.
Only "whies" can be "racists...or so, the MSM would have you believe.
Things is, no one ever speaks about black racists, which would include most GANGS, or in some cases, even the Black Panthers or NAACP.
And the MSM eve likes to downplay black-on-white crime, but the DoJ paints a more truthful picture.
The good, decent black people of this nation (for which there ARE a lot, but STILL too few) have risen above this, have moved on, and are hard-working, tax-paying citizens who raise great children with a value system unparalleled in their OWN community.
But, according to SOME blacks, they've "sold out to whitey".
ANd it's such "victacratic" (a LARRY ELDER word...read his stuff...fantastic man) behavior that allows racism to continue in this nation, fostered mainly by this faction of the black community.
We had a time in the 70s and 80s when cultures merged real well, but that rapidly changed and the races started to divide once again, precipitated by the lower-class blacks.
Then the "gangsta/thug/rap" crowd took hold, and that part of society hasn't looked back since.
To THEM, it's not about being a good person, busting your butt and EARNING a living, earing respect, or earning trust.
It IS about TAKING anything and everything, giving back nothing, and promoting their self-inflicted inferiority onto others in the process.
But that's just what sociologists have found out (and what I see every day).
Thanks for Stopping by and commenting.
You definitely "get it"...and as I like to say, that gives me hope for the future of our country!
Keep the faith & have a great weekend.
I was on the way home today from town, and that professor Gates guy, had been interviewed by Brian someoneorother on Booknotes on Cspan *I watch that every weekend*, and he was raised by a mother that hated white people, and he grew up hating white people. Also he's written a book, which is why he was on the show Booknotes, basically blaming all troubles people that aren't white.. on 'whitey'. Nah.. he's not racist or bigoted at all.. *barf* he's just another asshat, that thinks with the portion of his body that he sits upon. Despite his having a doctorate and teaching position at Harvard.
Diane:
He's just another VICTICRAT (as Larry Elder would say)...
If *he* wants to assess (proper) blame, he's got to STOP pointing fingers and take a good HARD look in the mirror instead.
WE can often be our OWN worst enemies...we just look for others to blame because it's better than facing the facts.
