There was ONE voice speaking out against McCarthy, and that was the late Edward R. Murrow. He was a REAL JOURNALIST, and was there to ask the tough questions, and demand answers.
Today, we have no one of Murrow's caliber around, but what we DO have are two young people who are not afraid to scratch the surface and dig for the FACTS.

I've personally found out that WAY back in 2006, one member from the Oregon branch of ACORN went to VENEZUELA...(imagine that). ACORN also has "offices" in MEXICO, PERU, the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC and ARGENTINA (don't cry for them, Argentina).

ACORN has ALREADY changed it's "international name" to COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS INTERNATIONAL.
Here's their website:
www.acorninternational.org/
All of this crap is part of a much larger issue, make no mistake about this.
The latest "trend" (in response to this fallout) we're seeing is that ANYONE who says "nay" when the President says "yay"...is a RACIST. (and to think I voted for Carter...WTF was I thinking way back then?)
Jimmy Carter has some serious societal issues, and perhaps he'd best serve everyone by going back to GA, planting some more peanuts, and building a few more homes for Habitat for Humanity...and leave the REST of the world to those who can BETTER it.

Now, about this "racist" issue...classic example of a DOUBLE STANDARD.
Race (apparently) goes only ONE WAY in America, as if to intone that ONLY WHITES are racists. (who knew?)
That's what some folks WANT you to think...
The TRUTH is...racism is a TWO-WAY street...ALWAYS has been, and probably always will be.
But it's SO much easier to blame some WHITE person for ANY ethnic issue.
The FACTS are that if it were not for some WHITE PEOPLE, blacks would STILL be second-class citizens.
And it was WHITE MEN who founded the NAACP, back in the early 1900s.
And it was a WHITE MAN that signed INTO LAW the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.
Now, most blacks are grateful for those accomplishments, and have taken them to heart, and moved ON in their lives, achieving successes that the ancestors could only dream about.
So WHO, exactly ARE the racists here NOW, hmm?
When you basically "give" a group of ethnics ALL the amenities of life (and they still cry for more), while others have enough INTEGRITY to say "No thanks, I can do this myself, because I am a FREE MAN and can make MY OWN decisions", and everyone else is PAYING for those lazy asses too "busy" to be bothered with something as trivial as PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY...THAT, my friends, is a DOUBLE STANDARD.
When you treat ONE group of people with kids gloves, while holding the rest to the "law of the land", THAT is a double-standard.
When you call a white boy "racially-motivated" when he strikes a black boy, while seeing a GROUP of blacks attack a white boy on a school bus, and saying it "might" have been a hate crime...THAT is a double-standard.
When you incarcerate MORE blacks than whites because THEY (the blacks) have committed MORE of the crime in a given area, that is NOT a double standard...
THAT is called JUSTICE.
When an ethnic family doesn't meet the financial criteria for housing in an all-white area, THAT is racism, but when scores of ethnics chase decent families from their "free and clear" houses in a neighborhood, THAT is NEVER called racism. That IS a double-standard!
When you allow free housing, free lunches, discounted utilities, and no background checks for people who DO NOT qualify for any of that, but DENY welfare benefits to a TRULY deserving single mom, who might have been recently laid-off...THAT is a double-standard.
When "some" people of ethnicity can use the *n* word freely, while others who say the same word are accused of being racist, THAT is a double-standard.
All this crap comes down to ONE, specific point...
Either make something UNIFORM for all, or DO AWAY with it.

What's fair for ONE, should be fair for ALL.
There is simply NO reason or excuse to NOT be able to hold EVERYONE to the SAME STANDARDS in life.
You can't play the race card.
You can't blame poverty.
You can't claim ignorance.
What you CAN do is become INFORMED...and EDUCATED...

The system is DESIGNED with certain people in mind. It's designed to play up to those who want nothing more than to be "taken care of". The system just LOVES people like this.
When you give into this governmental juggernaut, and refuse to get out of it's way, or even to question it's destination or agenda, you WILL become part of it. Think of it as a runaway STEAMROLLER...It might not move FAST, but it WILL crush anything in it's path. And if you're not smart enough to move your ass OUT of the way, you WILL become a part of the road it's rolling over.

Trouble is, this nation ALSO has so much government, people can fall between cracks wider than the frigging Grand Canyon, and can get "lost" along the way. That's how they learn to "play" the system...and play it well.
Now, I'll be the first one to tell you that all this "race card" bullshit is just that...BULLSHIT!

And I'm not the ONLY one who's fed the hell UP with "racism" being used as the "universal cop out" when all that is REALLY needed is a little integrity and accountability on behalf of people who shirk their responsibility to themselves, their children, and this country.
All this "easy way out" crap is for the birds.
Sure, we still have active racists in this nation, but I'm damn sure I'm not ONE of them. I'm no frigging extra out of some D.W. Griffith silent film, so just STFU about it.
Whenever a white person looks at a black person "the wrong way" (whatever freaking way that is), they're racist.
When a white person speaks the truth, they're a racist.
When a black person says the truth about the same issues, they're castigated by THEIR OWN PEOPLE as a "sellout" or an "Uncle Tom", or a "Oreo".
And all this vocal diatribe is coming from (low-class) BLACK MOUTHS, so WHO, really is furthering the nasty stigma of racist intent?.
The radical left LOVES this, because their voter base is predominantly BLACK.
So I suppose that makes the radical left the "new slave masters"?
It sure looks that way.
Time has come to wake the hell up.
People want to (mis)label ME a "racist"...fine, go ahead, I'll just call you a f$cking moron and laugh in your damn primate face!
I know the truth, as do MANY of you out there. It's quite liberating, isn't it?
WE are not the racists in America, but we DO KNOW who THEY are NOW, don't we?
And we also know about ALL these "double-standards" that have been placed in our path to foster that racism, through fallacies and misdirectional disinformation.
We're watching EVERY...SINGLE...ONE of you.
So get your asses out and get a BIGGER FAN...you're gonna NEED it!
We, the people...still believe in this nation...what it stands for, and want to see a better future coming, and if we are to be somehow damned along the way, we'll be damned for doing what was RIGHT, and for the RIGHT reasons...for everyone.
Stay safe out there, America.

Great post as usual Bob. Jimmy Carter is a mystery to me. Does he wish that he had not been born white? Does he wish that he has not been born American? He throws out bogus claims against conservatives and travels to the middle east to support terrorists. He is not only the worst president in the history of history, but he is an unintelligent squawker that is desperate to find some purpose for his miserable life. Whew...I am glad I got that off my chest. Have a great day!
Jimmy Carter is a mystery to me. Is he upset that he was born white? Is he upset that he was born American? He bloviates about conservatives being racist while traveling to the middle east to support terrorists. Not only is he the worst president in the history of history, he is an unintelligent cult of personality that is just searching for some sort of purpose for his miserable life. Whew...I am sure glad that I got that off my chest. Have a lovely day.
Daniel:
I'll address BOTH of your (duplicate) comments at once...LOL.
Carter might be off his MEDS...that's all I can figure out.
He's become more enigmatic over the years...and certainly not to the benefit of the USA.
Although I do admire his work with HFH, his politics have become SO screwed up, that he has probably ruined ANY chance of being a noteworthy EX-President.
He WILL be remembered MORE for his recent detracting comments about the nation HE used to be President of.
Sadly, all the good MIDDLE EAST peace talks he fostered will be nothing more than a footnote in our history.
It must really suck to be him these days.
I feel for the guy...he needs to get his face BACK into AMERICAN history books.
Thanks for stopping by!
I think Carter is getting senile in his old age, and thinking we are back in the 40s instead of in 2009. And Obummer isn't doing anything to stop the "its racist" talk either. If he thinks by ignoring it, it will just go away, he's acting ignorant. He should take a stand, get a spine and say something. But he won't, because all his fringers and followers and kool-aid drinkers, are doing his dirty work for him. I agree, racism goes both ways. I just checked my twitterfeed, and this is National Hispanic Month. I knew we had a black history month, now we have a hispanic month, when is the German Month, when is the Italian Month, when is the "I'm not a darned hyphenated anything Month"? Or when is the "Commonsense Month" We're lacking those. And Pelosi today said such language from "the mobs" is so bad, she has to balance the 1st amendment between "keeping people safe". I don't hear anyone spouting threats except for the left. They're the ones doing all the name-calling and the abuse. Not from the crowds of people fed up with big government and too many taxes. Today's GB was good.
Diane:
"commonsense month"...ROFL...I LOVE it!
"I'm not a damned hyphenated anything" month...fantastic!
You made my evening with those...
Brilliant!
ANd to think last Saturday, NO ONE was even ARRESTED in Washington...can't say that with ANY other "march", can we?
WE certainly surround THEM.
Thanks for stopping by.
"I'm not racist. I hate everyone equally."
I don't know how many times I have used that saying.
When I was the lead cook at a restaurant, we had a black fellow (fresh out of the army, where he was a cook) come to work for us. If you corrected anything he did, he would call you a racist. I looked him square in the eyes and told him flat out, I don't give a $hit what color you are buddy, this is how we do things here..... don't like it? There's the door. He made it another month before he quit.
Where I work now, we have quite the mix. Blacks, Mexicans, Native Americans and Whites, and not one person has ever accused another of being racist. Lazy....... yes. Racist.....no.
EL:
WIsh I had a DOLLAR for everytime I used that saying, too...!
(talk about an EARLY retirement)
I'm amazed that the former soldier took that stance. If there's ONE thing the military doesn't cotton to, it's the "race card" being played, no matter WHAT rank.
As to work ethics in general...they pretty much suck these days, compared to decades past, that's for sure.
WHat we ARE seeing now is Hispanics expressing animosity towards blacks, and since Hispanics are included in WHITE CRIME stats, I guess we'll keep hearing "racist" chants for some time to come.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts and observations.
