And what a legend he was...
Bernard Schwartz, more famously known as Tony Curtis has passed away at the age of 85.

Since his life and career are lengthy, I will only post the WIKI link which spans his life and provides all the facts and figures to this wonderful actor's life and career:

Curtis has made some movies that I'm sure you STILL watch every single time they come on. I know I do.
He was a master of low-key comedic acting, but could do drama with surprising clarity.
Not bad for a Hungarian/Jewish immigrant, hmm?
Included here today are some of his movies and most of my personal favorites.
I know I will never forget him in such roles as he played in THE GREAT RACE, SOME LIKE IT HOT, OPERATION PETTICOAT, and THE DEFIANT ONES.
(to name a VERY few)
He even played a casino owner in the Robert Urich series: VEGA$
It's sad to loose such actors, but time waits for no one, and catches up to us all...eventually.
Rest in peace, Tony...
And rest assured you will continue to entertain us well past your time, through your long-lived career.
I hope you take some time and watch a few of his more than 100 movies..and remember a time when being an actor could be done without swearing every other word...a time when movies were truly MOVIES.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay safe out there, America.

Tony Curtis was one of my favorite movie stars. (The day of the movie star is over today we have actors.) He was a veteran of WWII and was wounded on Guam. (I read where he had COPD). Great tribute I enjoyed it.
MSN:
I haven't the right words to express the QUALITY of actor he was.
When we were growing up, we HAD (as you said) REAL MOVIE STARS...they were larger than life and we couldn't wait for the next picture they were going to be in.
And they got paid a LOT less than the "mega-stars" today...
In return, we laughed and cried, and we had marvelous oscar-winning performances.
Truly worthy of the awards and kudos they received.
Today...not so much.
Glad you like the tribute.
Have yourself a very nice day.
Thanks for dropping by.
Bob G:
Interesting movies that I might have to look at sometime. I don't remember him at all; his most famous stuff was just before I was born.
He passed the genes on too; Jamie Lee is a darn good actor herself.
He certainly was easy on the eyes!
He'll be missed. Thanks for the post.

If you wnat laughs, see THE GREAT RACE or OPERATION PETTICOAT.
If you want drama, then definitely THE DEFIANT ONES, or THE BOSTON STRANGLER.
TCM should be showing some of these real soon...
You're more than welcome.
SO glad you could drop on by today.
Have a very nice day in KCMO.
