Crimestoppers Notebook...
Been a long time since I did this gig (here), but it's a good way to tout some of the shenanigans going on around town.

So buckle up...(it's the LAW).

*** First up, The FWPD would like *my* (read OUR) help (what, AGAIN???):
(( Suspect holds up 3 area businesses - Police now asking for your help

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a series of armed robberies.
According to police, a man held up the Family Dollar at 5307 Decatur Road just before 9:30 a.m. on September 17th.
Then on the morning of September 20th, investigators believe that same suspect held up the CVS on East State Boulevard. and the Walgreens on West Jefferson Bouelvard.
According to police, in each of the three robberies, the suspect approached the store clerk with a large kitchen knife that had a tan handle.
He then demanded cash and fled each store on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’6" - 5’10" with a stocky build.
He was last seen wearing a grey-colored hooded sweatshirt with a black patch on both sleeves, a white colored baseball cap, blue jeans, and red colored gym shoes.
He is also believed to have shed the sweatshirt and was last seen wearing only a white t-shirt, and a white bandana concealing his face.
The suspect may be driving a large pickup truck, blue in color, with tinted windows.

(Wonder if it's that blue/silver Dodge RAM p/u with the dark windows I see in MY area - in case the FWPD is reading this post....'ya never know, right?)
Gee, haven't I BEEN "helping" the FWPD for years (for gratis, I might add), and seeing little return on "my investment"?
Cripes, you can rob a store around here with nothing (just tell 'em you have a weapon)...and get away with it.
This is the result of a "free-rob" zones we have down here (such employees NOT permitted to carry a gun). Be nice to see an employee break that law, pull a pistol and shoot the guy.
I'm just sayin'...
Concerned citizens ARE the "eyes and ears" of local police departments everywhere, and a valuable resource that should never be overlooked.
Because we ALL know the po-po can't be everywhere all the time, right?
*** Next, we have this little gem which shows that bad parents DO exist.
(( 13-Year-Old Arrives to School Drunk and Semi-Conscious
By Scott Sarvay & Max Resnik
Updated Sep 21, 2011 at 6:22 PM EDT
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne Police responded to a report of a student who was reportedly incoherent and vomiting this morning at Shawnee Middle School. Blood tests confirmed the 13-year-old boy had alcohol in his system.
Police and paramedics were called to Shawnee Middle School at approximately 8:00 a.m. According to police radio dispatch, the boy told officers he received the alcohol from someone else. That claim is under investigation.
Jerri Lerch, Executive Director of the Drug and Alcohol Consortium of Allen County, says that beginner and younger drinkers are being pulled by brand marketing geared toward their interests.
"They come in kool-aid, punch kind of flavors of all kinds. The newest beverages that they're coming out with are in the very small aluminum pouches like a Capri Sun or like a juice box would be."
Lerch says many of the drinks are loaded with sugar as well to distract from the bitterness that traditional alcoholic drinks might have. She says many of them also come in 24 ounce cans or pouches that contain 12 percent alcohol. At that rate she says, one can is equal to about four beers.
She says that another contributing factor to underage drinking is not possessing adult decision making skills. She says teens and adolescents act on emotion and not on logic.
"The last center of the brain to develop is the frontal cortex, the pre-frontal cortex, where decision making and analysis occurs. So literally, our researchers tell us that our young people don't have the brakes in their brains to stop."
According to researches she says, the brain is not fully developed until the age of 25.
As for the how and where the 13-year-old boy received the alcohol, the investigation continues.

If this isn't a product of SOCIAL CONDITIONING...I don't really know what is, right?
(and if you're wondering about social conditioning, swing on back to YESTERDAY'S post)
But wait...there's always more...
*** Another signal *75* ends up on the SOUTH side of town.

Couple lead police on south-side chase - Both in custody for multiple charges
Archie Ingersoll The Journal Gazette
FORT WAYNE – A woman and man led police on a 1 1/2 -mile chase on Fort Wayne’s south side before colliding with a truck and hitting a tree in a yard Wednesday, police said.
About 1:40 p.m., Rachel S. Bauermeister, 35, drove off at a "high rate of speed" when an officer tried to pull her over in the 1900 block of Fairfield Avenue for an expired license plate, according to Fort Wayne police.
Police said Bauermeister and her passenger, Raynell C. White, 27, were going south on Fairfield when they ran a red light at Pontiac Street. At Fairfield’s intersection with Rudisill Boulevard, the car hit a truck and then struck a tree in a yard in the 400 block of West Rudisill, police said.
Bauermeister and White, who suffered minor injuries in the crash, then fled on foot. Both were arrested. White was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, and he had a warrant for his arrest.
Bauermeister, who allegedly has an alias of Rachel S. Harris, of the 3700 block of Bowser Avenue, faces charges of criminal conversion, resisting law enforcement, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident. She was in custody Wednesday evening, with a bail amount of $2,500.
White, of the 1600 block of Hobson Road, was charged with resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in lieu of $3,250 bail.

Hmm...seems these two were MADE for each other...'ya think?
Perhaps a would-be pimp and his "moll"...hard-at-work (and probably on YOUR dime).
She was driving a white 90s Buick Park Avenue (IN tag # 594ZUB).
Guess I won't be seeing (or hearing) that car pass by our house any longer.
One down...too many more to go.
*** Next, there SHOULD be one aspect of policing that is never ignored, and that's the "demeanor" of a patrol area, district, or sector.
By that, I mean the "feel" of a neighborhood...the sounds, smells, and overall appearance need to be something a regular patrol officer needs to be keeping mental notes of, if they are to be as effective as possible.
Too often, chasing radio calls back-to-back prevent that, but it still should be on an officer's "radar", as it were.
You drive THROUGH an area often enough, you NOTICE sh*t...can't be helped, if you're doing the job right.
You can hear on the radio that an officer has spotted "lines down", or a traffic light is OUT (of service).
What amazes me, is that in our little corner of the ghettohood, we have TWO (count 'em, 2) utility pole lights that are not functioning as designed.
One blinks on and off, and the other just plain gave up the ghost.
Makes the area look like we are in a constant state of OUTAGE.
And over the course of a WEEK, not ONE call into the city to get these lights FIXED.
You mean to tell me that an officer cruising through the area didn't NOTICE that it's "darker than usual"?
Gimme a break, here.
You can't help but notice that with the foliage, even moonlight doesn't get the job done, and certainly NOT when a couple of street lights are kaput.
Makes me wonder about things.
So, once again, it will be up to ME to call this into the city's helpline and get some utility men to roll on this and get the neighborhood lit the hell back up (where it needs to be).
THAT is called PREVENTING CRIME, people.
Neglecting such things, is nothing short of CAUSING crime...it's that simple.
*** Lastly today, I want to give a shout out of thanks to Momma Fargo for choosing me as the recipient of a book giveaway at her blog.
The title is CONFESSIONS OF A CATHOLIC COP by Thomas Fitzsimmons, who is in fact, a veteran of the NYPD, and if you saw the movie: Fort Apache - The Bronx, you got an idea whose experiences this movie was based on (good flick, btw).
So thanks for the book...I've already blown through the first FIVE chapters, and I have to say, it's a damn good read.
I can smell the city as he describes it...weird how you recall such stuff.
As much as I like certain parts of the city I came from (Philly), I like the type of locale we live in now a bit better, and it's not because of the other "inhabitants". They only add to frustration, and need to be dealt with in some manner to extricate them from the lives of normal folks.
I prefer a slower pace these days (not that I'm gettin' it all that much)...something to rekindle more of the living part of life.
I guess we can blame our reason for wanting where we live to be as nice as possible on that Social Conditioning gig...
Our parents were totally AT FAULT, and we might want to stop a moment and thank them for the concern they've displayed to us.
Then again, that's the kind of "fault" I'm sure we all can live with, and with a lot less strife.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay safe out there, America.

I like this series Bob--nice variety of morons.

The teen drunk at school I'd think is really nothing new. I remember way too much substance experimentation at my junior high on school grounds. I think they do a much better job today in trying to prevent it.

Raynell does not seem to be a happy camper, and with that low of a bond, I am sure he was playing X-Box at his cousin's house in no time.

While I'm not all that surprised either, SOME parents ARE voicing concerns (finally...took 'em long enough).

I figure when a kid comes to school and "blows his lunch" before 1st recess, something's wrong there!

...Lack of supervision, and obviouslty no one to see this student off to school.

Raynell already HAD a active *14*, and the police were looking for him.

It appears they found him...LOL.

And with his ability to "schuck & jive" his way in and out of the pokey, your estimation of what he'll soon be doing, is RIGHT on target!

Wonder if anyone catches colds from the draft created by ALL those "revolving doors" at the jail???

(inquiring minds wanna know)

Hey, thanks for swinging on by today and commenting.

You roll safe out there.

drunk at school is nothing new. it could have been me when growing up. but, i didnt like drinking when i was that young. my parents had drugs (legal but they still get you high) and drink all over the place. i was a square type of kid (thank God) with friends that enjoyed taking me to church. so nothing to much new there.

but, about the chase .....well i was wondering if my niece was envolved. i may not have talked to her in years. but when you are arrected for PROSTITUTION we can pretty much tell where your life will head too. and she is in the same age bracket as my niece. (prostitution isnt a word i write everday. i copied and pasted...lol)

well take care. and hopefully i'll stop by more often. just been busy.

MY father had ONE ruile about drinking...
"As long as you live under THIS roof, you do your drinking HERE"

If I ever got caught sneaking it, or drinking otuside of home...I'd still be eating my meals standing!

I hope it wasn't your niece involved.
Good to see you again.

Thanks for commenting.

Stay safe down there.
