Weekend Roundup...
This weekend marks the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attack on these United States, and there will be plenty of coverage across media-land.
Cities and towns all over America will have ceremonies that mark the event, and I'll be posting on SUNDAY with a pictorial of 9/11 from then until now.
I hope you'll drop by and give it a look-see.
In the meantime, let's rifle through the files securely kept in my basement, near the BB pistol range, and see what we can uncover, shall we?

President Obama laid out his "plan" for job creation, and I have to say that (small) parts of it are good.
Overall, it's a disaster. He claims this ($200-$400 BILLION - probably even more) bill will "be paid for" (what, unlike the REST of them?), so I guess Bernanke will be OK printing up some more CASHOLA...and we ALL know where THAT will lead, right?
When I saw the President's photo in front of Congress in today's paper, the ONLY person I immediately thought of was Benito Mussolini...
Sorry, but the posture and facial expressions (read arrogance) was too blatant to miss. Obama wants things HIS way (spoiled child syndrome, no doubt). Be nice if for ONCE, he'd not rely on a teleprompter. To me, that demonstrates a lack of compassion...a lack of belief and conviction. It's SO "rote", it's not even funny.
We must pass this bill, he said. He definitely wants things HIS way (or else?).
Well, Burger King is open about NOW, so maybe he should go THERE instead.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A Fort Wayne mother was charged with neglect Wednesday after leaving her four children at a Burger King restaurant while they used the restroom.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Allen Superior Court Wednesday, Monique Antionette Mays, 26, and her children, ages, eight, six, six, and five were walking in the downtown area around 3 p.m. Monday, when they told her they needed to use the restroom.
While at the corner of Barr Street and Washington Boulevard, Mays told her children to use the restroom at the Burger King restaurant nearby and she would wait for them at the intersection.
When the children returned to the Barr and Washington intersection, they were unable to find their mother.
They returned to the Burger King in case she had gone there to meet them, but still could not find her.
The children told police Mays had threatened to abandon them so that she could have alone time with her boyfriend.
At the time of the incident, police checked numerous locations to find Mays, but those were unsuccessful. Police were also not able to find any suitable relative to take the children to, and were placed in foster care instead.
))
Now what was it that I said about SOME people are not deserving to HAVE children???
This sure looks like it fits the bill, doesn't it?

Arrest made in stabbing attack
Archie Ingersoll - The Journal Gazette
FORT WAYNE – Police have arrested a man suspected of stabbing another man in the heart during a fight early Wednesday on Forth Wayne’s north side.
Melvin L. Sanders, 19, has been preliminarily charged with aggravated battery, criminal recklessness and battery.
The stabbing victim, Eric Robinson, 23, of Fort Wayne, was in critical condition Thursday in a local hospital.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Sanders, Robinson and others had been drinking in an apartment at the North Highlands complex in the 2100 block of St. Marys Avenue. Sanders and Robinson started arguing over something "silly," the affidavit said.
The argument became intense, and Sanders suggested they take it outside, the affidavit stated.
Robinson, Sanders and a third man took an elevator down to the first floor and went outside, where the dispute became physical. The third man told police he tried to separate Sanders and Robinson as they fought.
At that point, Sanders pulled a black-handled knife, resembling a steak knife, and stabbed Robinson, causing him to flinch in pain, the third man told police. Robinson received five stab wounds, including ones to the heart and a lung, according to the affidavit.
Sanders then fled. Police were sent to the scene just before 5 a.m. Robinson was taken to the hospital and underwent lifesaving surgery.
Sanders was being held Thursday at the Allen County Lockup with a bail amount of $22,500.

Originally, I though the perp WAS black, but I second-guessed myself and thought he might be white...good to know my INITIAL instinct was right.
Lesson to be learned...GO WITH YOUR GUT. It's usually CORRECT the FIRST time.
But wait...there's MORE...

Conviction for battery to baby boy
Rebecca S. Green - The Journal Gazette
FORT WAYNE – An Allen Superior Court jury convicted a 23-year-old Fort Wayne man Thursday of battery and neglect of a dependent stemming from multiple skull fractures inflicted on a 6-month-old baby in June 2010.
Allen County prosecutors charged Marquise Holmes, of the 900 block of Eliza Street, in February, eight months after Leeandra Woods called an ambulance for her unresponsive and unconscious baby boy.
While she was out running errands, Woods received a call from Holmes just minutes before, telling her that the baby had stopped moving. The baby had seemed to be ill for days, and Woods took him to the hospital on two occasions.
She testified Wednesday that she found a "smushy" spot on the baby’s head, as well as lumps. She said he was more mellow than normal and then began having trouble keeping food down. But both times she took him to two area hospitals, doctors sent her home with prescriptions for a skin infection.
When the unconscious baby was taken to the hospital by ambulance, tests revealed he had suffered multiple skull fractures, some in varying stages of healing, according to court documents.
According to court documents, the fractures were on the base of the baby’s skull, which doctors said would require a great deal of force. The most recent injury, according to court documents, would have rendered the baby immediately unconscious.
Woods testified Wednesday that when she asked Holmes about why the baby seemed sick, a few days before the baby lost consciousness, Holmes said that she and the baby were getting on his nerves.
After the jury’s verdict was read about 6 p.m. Thursday, Allen Superior Court Judge John Surbeck said he ordered Holmes taken into custody.
Sentencing will be early next month.

Oh, the cellmates are going to SO love to see his young ass in the slammer.
(They don't take kindly to child abusers)
If Marquise is lucky, he might even get a "taste of his own medicine"....we can but hope.
I guess his MY SPACE page might not be updated AS OFTEN now...hmm?
Hope he likes the color ORANGE...gonna be wearing a LOT of it for quite some time, and the way most of his people dress, he's probably ALREADY used to wearing flip-flops in public...LOL.
And yes, being correct about this perp's assessment (by me) NEVER gets old!
Like George Carlin once said: : "I can spot a GUILTY person just by looking at them." (and I usually can)
Wait, we're not quite finished yet....and this one's a "beaut"...

Storage unit tip yields cruiser door
The Journal Gazette
A man was charged Thursday with receiving stolen property after investigators said they found the door of a Fort Wayne police squad car in his storage unit.
Adham El-Khatib, 26, of the 1800 block of Wagoner Court, was being held Thursday at the Kosciusko County Jail, awaiting sentencing on a burglary charge.
On May 12, city police, acting on a tip from a confidential informant, searched a storage unit that El-Khatib had rented. During the search, investigators recovered the police car door, court documents said.
The door had been stolen off a squad car that had been decommissioned because of an accident and was parked at a city garage.
An analysis found one of El-Khatib’s fingerprints on the door, according to court documents.
In an interview with police, El-Khatib denied stealing the door but acknowledged that he had possessed it, court documents said.
They did not say how the door was stolen.
))
Now what would someone of (obvious) MUSLIM heritage want with a POLICE cruiser door anyway, I wonder???
And what kind of SECURITY do we have in place at the City Garage, and how come it was (apparently) easy to circumvent???
At least the C.I. came through in the clutch with the *4-1-1* regarding the missing door.
Thankfully, this did NOT wind up in this season's episode list of STORAGE WARS...LOL!
*** Lastly today, NYC is on alert for a possible car-bomb, and all bridges & tunnels, as well as other venues where people congregate are seeing heightened security, both seen and unseen.
The attacks on 9/11 (2001) changed this nation, much the same way that Pearl harbor did.
We all were changed, and so many of us shall never forget.
What strikes me as odd, is that people like the aforementioned above, are seemingly NOT bothered one damn bit by anything, except what serves THEM...it's the "Hurray for US, to hell with everyone else" mentality that drives people like those in these articles.
When I state that America suffers from a form of ADHD, I don't say that lightly.
And it bothers me greatly that I have to say it at all in the first place.
We SHOULD be a nation that finds itself a lot more united...perhaps not as much as on 9/12, but still holding fast to how fortunate we all are to live IN this country...how we can all pull together in times of need, and how we can watch out for ourselves, our children, and even one another.
But those mentioned above can't seem to grasp such a good and noble concept.
To them, it's all about being somehow entertained, by whatever means they can fashion...and that's damn sad.
This Sunday will be Patriot's Day...a day to reflect...to remember.
It should be a time of introspection, as well as gratitude for those who watch over us in any capacity.
It should be a time when we realize who WE are.
Have yourselves a good weekend.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and as always...
Stay safe out there, America.
