Humpday Happenings...
Middle of the week, with temperatures a lot more into the SEASONAL range...in other words, put the damn shorts, tank tops and sunblock AWAY today...you ain't gonna need it. The high today will only be around 50.
Now THAT is more like "Spring" to me...you can save those 80 degree days for July or August, 'K?
Meanwhile, back at the weather station...where today's post is packed tighter than a coyote vehicle with six families from Mexico, and where we've more links than a chain factory...let's get rolling...
*** Wednesday is military quote day, aka WHO SAID THAT?, and we've got a beaut...really short and sweet.
(and it ties into some of the rest of today's post)
"You don't hurt 'em if you don't hit 'em."
So...WHO said that, hmm?
The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
*** We've got some more on the Eden Green shooting late Monday night, which according to the Allen County coroner, also happens to be our FIFTH homicide this year (so far), and here's the skinny.
The recently-deceased Marcus A. Hayden, 26, was wanted by the feds for a failure to appear in U.S. District court regarding violation of his work release for a sentence back in 2009 for carrying a firearm while involved with drug trafficking.
(goes to show that MAY-BE you shouldn't let SOME folks out of jail...for ANY reason)
Here's the link to the updated story:

And here's a related story regarding the federal court records:

Nice to know he "was such a good person...loved to laugh and have fun. He liked to play basketball and spent time with whatever bastard kids he fathered by multiple baby-mamas on welfare."
Well, that wasn't REALLY said, but you wouldn't be all that surprised IF it was, right?
That's just the typical response we always get when others describe the despicable in our society.
(( It's interesting to note that Ft. Wayne is looking to INCREASE the number of low-income housing (read Section 8 & HUD), as well as spread it about town, because there are some disturbing FACTS about the Eden Green Apartments.
http://www.indianasnewscenter.com/news/gallery/Goodbye-Eden-Green-Hello-Villages-Of-Hannah-135131088.html
Looks like the "new" owners of the apartments haven't done MUCH to stop the crime...
http://www.fortwayne.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/JG/20100426/LOCAL/304269989
Even HUD gave this dump BAD scores, and that was back in 2010...not much progress since THEN, is there?
(Both of these stories are really GOOD reads, BTW)
This place might be shut down in the near future...and all those nasty-ass peeps will be moved into OTHER neighborhoods (thanks to vouchers).
And then, we start all this anew...in a lot MORE areas about town. ))
I will say one thing, this boy had a HUGE problem with following the LAW when it comes to vehicles and firearms.
He wasn't too shy when it came to DOMESTIC BATTERY either, was he?
I know...he was just oppressed by "the man"...kept DOWN all those years for "doing nothing".
Funny thing, a lot of times DOING NOTHING is the precursor to doing something BAD...the whole "idle mind if the devil's playground" kinda thing.
At least he attempted to flee and that gave officers the just cause they needed to pursue deadly force in bringing this cur down.
It might also explain why our part of the ghettohood has been quieter than usual over the past 2 days.
(not that I'm complaining...'cause I'm NOT)
I was hoping it might have been Derrick Tennant, but then I remembered that we was wanted by the FBI and not the U.S. Marshal's service.
It gets a tad confusing with multiple agency involvement and jurisdictional authorities.
I am wondering if Hayden's arrest in 2009 was somehow tied into the multi-agency bust of a drug ring here that originally netted FIFTEEN arrests around town. Although HIS name wasn't one OF those 15, he might have been a bigger "playa" in that investigation, but nothing was mentioned.
Any way you shake it, that's one LESS problematic drug trafficker off the damn streets.
*** Now, about this "Trayvon-mania" thing...
(glad you asked)
The repercussions over this investigation continue to spiral somewhat out-of-control, as evidenced by THIS story:
http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-04-10/news/os-sanford-police-car-shooting-20120410_1_cruiser-shots-clickorlando-com
Imagine that, an (fortunately) unoccupied police cruiser shot up with 6 rounds...wonder by whom...and WHY?
I would STRONGLY urge ALL LEOs out there to really keep your heads on a swivel out there...watch your "six", and if your department has the capacity to do so, recommend TWO-OFFICER cars instead of single officer vehicles.
And then, there's THIS story from the BLAZE:
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/attackers-allegedly-yell-trayvon-before-beating-man-in-another-possible-racially-motivated-assault/
A "racially-motivated" attack on a white man...say it ain't so, Bob.
And there is also THIS 2-part series also from the Blaze.
Part 1:
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/race-wars-part-1-the-shocking-data-on-black-on-black-crime/
Part 2:
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/not-ready-waiting-on-video-race-wars-part-ii-co-opting-martin-luther-king-while-fanning-the-flames-of-racism/
I applaud those at the Blaze with the cajones to speak THE TRUTH regarding this bane across America.
I've said for DECADES (long before I created this blog and before I even knew my wife) that we seemed headed in this direction, and that's both sad and scary at the same time. Nice to know I was right, but I wish to hell I wasn't in this case.
The really bad part to all this is that "IF" there were to be racial tensions that boil over, the first thing we could see are the police departments across the USA being overwhelmed quickly.
The next (logical) step would be to get some "back-up", and activate the National Guard, and how well would THAT work?
Walking the path to MARTIAL LAW is not for the squeamish nor the faint-of-heart, believe me.
You could be SHOT DEAD for strolling YOUR streets with no intent on harming a soul.
THAT is the kind of scenario that might play out.
A wrong move by EITHER side would send cities into chaos.
Remember the Kent State shootings? The Watts riots? The Rodney King aftermath?
This present state of affairs could make all those pale in comparison, and would force people to take sides, or be caught in the maelstrom resulting from such behavior as we're seeing with factions like the NBPP.
And don't think that by NOT taking sides, you'd be "exempt" from the fallout...you'd just be a target at that point.
People would riot and they would look for ANYONE who was not on their side, racially-speaking. Innocents would be set upon in much greater numbers than we're currently seeing.
Hell, I KNOW our "fortress" would be a prime candidate, because we're WHITE. That ALONE would be the impetus to come after us, and we don't even bother a damn soul (unless bothered first).
We take too much sh*t from these moolies over the years, and yet we refrain from serious retaliatory measures (but I WILL call the po-po on their asses when the need arises).
Let's hope nothing like this happens.
*** Lastly today, we got our property tax bill for the next year...and I just HAD to open the damn thing.
I mean, we're already paying close to NINETY BUCKS per year (down from a high of close to $700 per year - thank you SO much, Section 8 housing and all the human refuse that have moved into all the rentals and have trashed our area).
Well, I damn near scared the cats with my LAUGHTER.
Our bill has gone DOWN...AGAIN...about 50%!!!
We're now looking at a yearly tax bill of close to SIXTY BUCKS (which is also the number of males hanging out with various baby-mamas in the area)
This is what happens when a city all but "writes off" an ENTIRE quadrant of it's boundaries.
No cry from the black community...or the Hispanic, and certainly NOT from any whites in the area (many of them have also fallen into the "trap" of entitlements...and drug use and alcohol abuse).
This is what you get when people are not held accountable, and are permitted to do whatever they like, whenever they like.
This is the ONLY thing that has gone DOWN in recent years (well, that...and our PROPERTY VALUE outright).
But...there can be some REAL progress made, as long as there are a few folks that DO care...DO want to see their part of town THRIVE again, and DO want to see crime get it's ass kicked the hell out of the area...once and for all.
All it takes is for the CITY to pay the f$ck attention, because it's bleeding revenue that could be had like a stuck pig.
(which mirrors much of how the SE side of our city looks these days)
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

I always enjoy when you talk about warming weather since I know that is what is on the horizon for us. We have been chilly and rainy here.

I am done with tax bills for now and am still in zombie stage as to think too much about what we pay and where it is going.

But, I do like your "why carry a gun?" image. Funny stuff.

Well, you can be assured of one thing when it comes to my take on the weather...I ONLY see my shadow when there's ONE TO SEE (and not ginned up by floodlights)...LOL

We have PLENTY of CHEAP houses down here...taxes UNDER $100 a year...who can beat THAT, hmm?

All you have to do is take advantage of it (and thereby chase out the riff-raff). Tell your friends.

If ENOUGH people do it, this would be a fantastic neighborhood (again).
And, yes that is MY hand holding MY gun...lol.

Thanks much for stopping on by today and commenting.

Stay safe (and weather-wise) out there.

Jimmy Doolittle?

As for the rising tensions over the Trayvon Martin shooting: It's too bad the victims of these assaults and vandalism perpetrated in response to the "lack of justice" can't be sued Sharpton, Jackson, Farrakhan, the NBPP, all of 'em. Make 'em pay. Their irresponsible bloviations are the cause of much of this chaos, but they'll never be held responsible. Very frustrating.

Doolittle?
Nope, but you're not that far off.
(and it's NOT Patton...LOL)

--That's the WEIRD thing about all these fringers...THEY always wind up passing OFF that sh*t end of the stick that THEY created...amazing.
(everyone else is left to clean up THEIR mess.)

Some folks can't be bothered with FACT-FINDING...
(it might mean they have to do a little "work"...heaven forbid!!!)

And without the FACTS...you're pretty much pissing in the wind.

Debate, I can work with...discussion, I can handle, but when people are purposely "fired up" for the wrong excuses (there is no REASON at this point) and incited to do evil to others in the "name" of so-called JUSTICE...that's wrong (and can be harmful to one's health).

Hey, thanks for stopping on by today and commenting.

Roll safe out there.

I checked out this new management co. for the ever-so-well-named Eden Green, and saw that BBB gave them an A+. We'll see how the "infestations" at EG scew that over the coming months.

Frankly, I always thought that EG was a prime location for the Safety Academy. Where else could you find such a constant stream of all the things that safety workers need to train on in one place, at no direct cost to the city?

Bob G. said...

CWM:
Whatever rating that management company HAD going into EG, they can't have it any longer...that's for sure.

ROFL...I like that idea of having the safety academny where EG is...makes damn good sense.

We have 3 sectors down here (named MARY, NORA, and OCEAN)
--EG is in the MARY sector.
--WE are in NORA sector.
--And the HUD apartmetns down along 7900 Serentiy Drive are in the OCEAN sector.

I've been told by FWPD that crime "migrates" between these 3 sectors constantly.

When the police lock down ONE sector, it just shifts to one of the other two.
Helluva way to run a city department...always "on the go" - never able to make a REAL dent on all this crap.

They need to do like the NYPD and create a "surge"into problem areas with specific task forces...it worked in IRAQ, and it worked in NYC.

Hey, thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Stay safe up there.
