Humpday Happenings...
It's a wonderfully wet morning staring us in the face here in the Heartland.
But never fear, this weather will give way to clearing skies and breezy conditions for the remainder of today (and for all you guys told to go fly a kite...later this morning is gonna be right up your alley).
In the meantime, let's see what else has been going on...
*** First up, today's military quote of the week...aka WHO SAID THAT?
"You cannot be disciplined in great things and be undisciplined in small things...Brave, undisciplined men have no chance against the discipline and valor of other men. Have you ever seen a few policemen handle a crowd? "
So, who said that? The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back at the Officer's Lounge...
*** Well, the Wifeymobile is in the shop for a bad HEATER CORE (that solved the mystery of the missing coolant).
When Mrs. Bobby G. came home yesterday, I decided to check the coolant level...it was still pretty full from me adding some, and yet, something else told me to pull back the rubber floor mats over the carpet on the passenger side front seat.
It was WET, and that told me the heater core was leaking into the passenger cabin...simple, huh?
Thing is, it's not the easiest job to tackle (thanks GM engineering), and that means that my old, tried and true 29 year old Pontiac Firebird may have to be pressed into (taxi) service tomorrow to run Wifey to and from her school.
(a nice 20 minute drive each way...joy.)
I might reach 60K on the odometer YET...lol.
Bob, the "taxi driver"...who'da thunk?
(you lookin' at ME...you...lookin'...at...ME???)
*** Believe it or else...this week is National Fire Prevention Week (not that we don't have enough fires to put out NATIONALLY, right?)
And as is the case EVERY year when they do this, it's to bring awareness to the fact that too many people perish in fires, be they at home, or at work.
Well, where WE live, there is little evidence that ANY of these public service announcements OR venues have done ANY damn good at all.
(unless you consider all the VACANT houses that are torched in the ghettohood).
The venerable "kitchen fires" down here are the most frequent, common, and stupid, because they never have to happen at all.
But, when you LEAVE stuff on the stove and then go out to jaw-jack with someone down the street, or fall ASLEEP, you KNOW how that's going to wind up...another free house for a moron that couldn't handle the LAST one they lived in (and burned to the ground).
Sometimes, it's due to bad wiring - deadbeat landlords don't give a damn about that...only that check from HUD for the "renters" they placed in that hovel. Basic living conditional issues that SHOULD be addressed...and never are.
We can thank a government too damn big to even notice the "small sh*t" for this one, can't we?
This year, the fire department is stressing "two ways out", and that's self-explanatory.
(works in spec ops real well too - actually it's more like THREE ways IN...SIX ways OUT).
In any event, the vast majority of lowlifes around here won't even know what this week is...and that's fine, as long as they don't try to burn MY house down when they have a brain-fart and burn THEIRS down.
*** Now this is a case of trying to have "thumb" fun, but not enough to last...

Imagine that...a THUMBPRINT on a TV left by a robber during a home invasion in the NE part of Ft. Wayne could be just what the authorities need to make a felony count of robbery stick even better.
Simeon (thought it was SIMIAN...lol) J. Walker of the 1400 block of Greene St. was the perp in question.
Guess what? Found a RAP SHEET for him (you knew I would):

And he was easy enough for find for investigators...HE WAS ALREADY IN JAIL...on ANOTHER case...LOL.
(whatta frigging dumbass)
Walker admitted to going into the apartment, but denied he had a gun. The "other two" men had guns - "No" and "Bsmack" (such worthy cohorts, right?).
He also admitted to smoking reefer with the two men, then they all went back to see a man in that apartment about getting MORE.
(nah...none of this sh*t's addictive...)
Walker "claims" he didn't know the robbery would occur...
Gee...drugs, morons, guns...you do the math there.
Seems that all equates nicely to a robbery...idiot!
Enjoy your orange jumpsuit and flip-flops.
*** Bet you didn't know that most all of us crap the WRONG way...it's TRUE.
(I know...helluva change up in topics...lol)
Hey, I can't make this stuff up, so here's the proof:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2012/09/20/161501413/for-best-toilet-health-squat-or-sit
Yes, Virginia, it IS better to SQUAT and NOT SIT.
Think about it...ever see a dog or cat with HEMORRHOIDS?
Well, WE get 'em, and much of it has to do with the manner in which we take a dump.
Bet'cha ELVIS could have used THIS info!
Seems all this centers around the "anorectal angle", (to to be confuised with the Bernmuda TRI-angle) which when straightened, makes voiding one's colon a lot easier.
Now, if you want to see if squatting is for YOU, it's easy enough to purchase a "Squatty-Potty" for $35.
It's basically a small stool (absolutely NO pun intended here) that you place your feet upon, to change that "angle" we spoke of.
And then PRESTO...everything comes out a lot easier...even spinach pizza...ROFL!
(but I wouldn't know about that )
So NOW you know why, whenever you go camping and have to make a "deposit" with Mother Nature, that it's pretty EASY to do so, rather than hold your breath in that damn Porta-Potty, right?
Ask any BEAR...they crap in the woods.
What this comes down to is...no strain...no pain.
Guess civilization isn't AS crappy as we thought...if we take a squat instead, right?
*** Lastly today, it's nice to know that we can learn from being so "advanced" a species...and do so simply by watching nature.
And many times, we go to great lengths to prove our superiority to every other species.
Thing is, we often are so caught up in our "superior-ness", we forget to notice the minute intricacies that are woven by all the other species all around us...and that we're part of that, whether we choose to believe it or not.
I believe that God does not make JUNK...or MISTAKES...we take care of that stuff all by ourselves.
So, perhaps, as I like to say, we need to step back...take a long look at things other than ourself, and think about how well we "fit" into the grand scheme of life.
And I also believe that by doing so, we enrich our lives and our very being.
That can't be that hard a pill to swallow...can it?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay safe out there, America.

First, I guessed it was a politician what said that... couldn't have been much farther off there, eh?

Second, the first day of my first job, I hit a RR track too fast and cracked the heater core... stinky business that! But at least it's an easy diagnosis... notwithstanding all the trash on the passenger side floorboard.

Third, maybe squatting is better... but not as easy to read the paper while you do your business!

Not a politician, but one of our "regular" quotable personages...

Amazing how "delicate" a damn HEATER CORE is...considering what ALL it has to do, it SHOULD be as hard to bust as an aircraft "black box" (not to engineering staff at GM)...lol.
And yes, what a wonderful smell you discover.
Keep Scrappy outta that stuff.

BTW, whenever I have to roll over RR tracks, I NEVER hit the brake, and proceed at a steady speed. That minimizes any potential for damage (told to me by a mechanic friend years ago).

I think I solved the whole "sit of squat?" issue...
I put the newspaper on the FLOOR, and take off my glasses.
With my older (and shorter eyeballs), it works pretty well...at BOTH ends...ROFL!!!

Hey, thanks for swinging on by today and commenting.

Stay safe (and sound) up there.

That whole squatty-potty thing is how they do things in the Middle East. I was in a restroom in a mall in Qatar when I saw that their "commode" was a hole in the floor with slots for your feet on either side. I looked at that and thought, "How the hell do you read on that thing?" I guess they don't do much reading in that part of the world. :)

No, they really don't...but YOU can, with some practice and "trial and effor"...lol.

Can you imagine thinking up something so "primitive" that WORKS?

What's next?
Stirrups???
(that could please the S&M crowd to NO end)...LOL.
Helluva stocking-stuffer.

Thanks for rolling up today and commenting.

Stay safe out there.
