Tales from the SOUTH Side...
And we're off to a wonderfully muggy morning out there in the Heartland, folks.
This isn't to be confused with the mugging that goes on down here in the ghettohood, though.
Today's temps will rise to the low 90s, plenty of clouds and a 30% chance of rain, with the possibility of a thunderstorm...not the BEST weather if you happen to have a hole in your roof that needs patching, but we'll talk more about that in a bit.
For now, let's have another cup of coffee (or whatever else you prefer) sit back, and see what's been happening elsewhere.
*** First out the gate today is our month-long homage to THIS month, and we call it:
Bobby G,'s This Day in AUGUST History!
August 27 -
1776 - The Battle of Long Island (in what is now Brooklyn) - British forces under the command of General Howe defeat the American forces under the command of General Washington.
1859 - Petroleum is discovered in Titusville, Pennsylvania, leading to the world's FIRST commercially successful oil well.
(and all kinds of parts have been sliding off of one another very well ever since)
1939 - The FIRST flight of the turbojet-powered Heinkel He178 - The world's FIRST jet aircraft.
(It was a prototype only and never mass-produced for service in the Luftwaffe)
2003 - Mars makes it's closest approach to earth in 60,000 years, passing a mere 34,646,418 miles distant. (and those martians STILL didn't sneak back to Grovers Mills, NJ)
Notable birthdays:
1908 - Lyndon B. Johnson -38th president of the USA (d-1973)
1916 - Martha Raye - American actress and comedienne (d-1994)
1942 - Daryl Dragon - American keyboardist (Captain and Tenille)
1944 - G.W. Bailey - American actor
1947 - Barbara Bach - American actress
1948 - Sgt. Slaughter - American wrestler
1952 - Paul Reubens - American actor (Pee Wee Herman)
A few who DIED on this day are Stevie Ray Vaughn, W.E.B. DuBoia, and Gracie Allen.
And now you know a lot of useless information to dazzle your friends.
Moving on...
*** Authorities in Spokane Washington have caught the other half of the duo that beat 88-year old Delbert Belton, resulting in his death.
Kenan Adams-Kinard: Your tax dollars at work!
The other useless piece of crap is one Kenan Adams-Kinard, age16, who joins the first teen arrested several days ago, Demetrius Glenn, also age 16, and right below is the story link:
Demetrius Glenn - He's SUCH a "good boy".
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/08/26/police-arrest-2nd-suspect-in-savage-beating-death-of-88-year-old-wwii-vet/
What astounds me is that police refuse to acknowledge ANY allusion to a possible hate (read race) crime. They "say" is ti was purely a robbery. (And I'm the Master of the Universe!)
Then why beat the man so severely that it results in his death, if it was "just" a robbery?.
I mean he WAS 88, and a shade over 5 feet tall...hardly what one could call a threat to two TEENAGE BLACKS, right?
This kind of double-standard when it comes to crime just disgusts me.
*** An update to the latest shooting on the SE side in the 3700 block of McKinnie.
Here's the story link:
http://www.wane.com/news/crime/man-shot-on-mckinnie-ave-in-serious-condition
Marquis Williams was the newest victim, although one has to wonder IF he is really a victim in the strictest sense of the word.
Police searched the house and found bags of MJ in the kitchen and under a child's bed, and burnt marijuana was found right outside the front door.
I guess pot really DOESN'T numb the pain of being shot...does it?
Now how much you wanna bet he's already got a nice RAP SHEET?

===============
Don't feel one damn bit sorry for him, either.
You made your bed...sleep in it.
*** And now, for the next chapter in the SAGA of BEOROOF...!
-- It was a relatively calm day in the Hoosierland, and yet ,despite the bait left out for the raccoons, none of them took advantage of it.
Yes, the traps are still empty, and we still have that hole in the roof.
With some storms rolling through in the next 24 hours, it WOULD be nice to have the hole COVERED, so as NOT to incur INTERIOR damage to the costs of the EXTERIOR damage we have to already fix.
I will attempt to out a call into Schmucker's Roofing (our contractors) and see if we can't have that hole patched temporarily, and if the raccoons tear it off, at least we know they're still around.
If not, no harm done either, because (hopefully) the inside of the house will remain...dry.
It really becomes a "theater of the absurd" when all this crap hits the fan at once.
I think jugglers in a damn flea-circus have it easier.
But here's crossing our fingers on this one...the avoidance of FURTHER damage just moved a few notches higher on the priority list.
And so ends this installment of Beoroof...stay tuned for the next soon-to-be-forgotten chapter in a never-ending saga of the Hoosierian Ghettoland.
*** Lastly today, Bill O'Reilly had one of THE best "talking points memos" to date and it had to do with he Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King's dream.
Tomorrow I'll be looking at 50 years after the dream (speech) and see what has gone right, and (more importantly) what has gone wrong.
Back then, we DID have the right thing in mind, and it crossed every line of ethnicity, religion, political affiliation...you name it.
We were steadfast in promoting equality for ALL people in America, but somehow, over the decades, some have become MORE equal than others.
Those that took Dr. King's words to heart did okay, while others that heard but did not LISTEN...well, we know what happened there.
This new "civil rights" movement is about being entitled rather than being empowered. it's about attitude rather than civility, and it's about blaming others for one's plight, rather than acknowledging a shortcoming, and then educating oneself and WORKING towards a specific goal in life.
Double-standards...we got too many of them, and I'm sure Dr. King would have much to say about that, were he still with us.
That's some serious food for thought.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Those two thugs that killed Delbert Belton are a disgrace to humanity. Their parents owe society a serious apology for inflicting those dirtbags on the world.

Makes you wonder if the assassin would still have shot King had he known what would be birthed in the civil rights movement thereafter. Or if King would have shot HIMSELF...

Beoroof. haha.. too funny. IF the racoons only knew. At least YOU got a roofer to call you back and show up. We can't even get that to happen.

The little thieves like catfish stink bait. I know this because they stole our tackle box once while we were camping and took it back into the forest. They couldn't open it, so they chewed the corner where the stink bait was and ate the stuff.

IF your current bait fails, here's your backup plan. lol

Two things very disturbing (on tip of everything ELSE) about this case)...

1 - One of the boys' parents think "he's a good boy"...If THAT isn;t a BAD case of DENIAL...PLUS, if THIS isn't a "WTF???" moment, I dunno WHAT is.

2 - The police chief stated that Shorty likely fought back, and that "may have enraged the boys further, making it a worse situation"...like it's the VET'S FAULT now?

WTH is going ON here?
It's BIZARRO WORLD!

Thanks for rolling up today and commenting.

Stay safe out there.

Yeah...either way might have changed a lot more than we thought.

BOOBDOCKS did a show about "what if Dr. King wasn't killed?", and when he came back (from a coma) he was SO distraught about HIS people...and whenever he spoke, the blacks igniored him and kept on being the wild (government-sponsored) animals many on the left have become since his speech.

At the end, he was said to have moved to CANADA...!
I wouldn't blame him at this point, unless something gets done to hold ALL these people accountable.

Thanks much for dropping by today to comment.

You stay safe up there.

The ONLY advantage of living in some city...as long as the locals don't feel like using the technicians or workers as TARGET PRACTICE...like they did with some out-of-state utility workers here to repair ice damage a few years back.
Luckily, no one got hit.

Don't have any catfish around, but I can scare up some SALMON skins...LOL.

Hey, if they decided to go ELSEWHERE...all the better, in my book.
If they come back AFTER the new roof goes on, they'll find it damn hard to get back ON to that roof.

Thanks for stopping by today and commenting.
Much apprecuated.

You stay safe out there.
