Welcome to a slightly SNOWY day...whatever happened to "some snow showers"?
Yesterday was damn near a whiteout in the early afternoon with the SNOWFALL we had Monday.

Started out innocent enough (around 0900 hrs)

Our total was in the 3-inch range...enough to shovel (what, again?)
And, it was a "heavy" snow...lots of moisture there.

Now THIS is getting a bit much (around midday)

What didn't melt away or was moved asid FROZE overnight, and that provided lot of soon-to-be business for local body shops. Plenty of accidents due to drivers thinking that since it was SPRING, you can drive NORMALLY....WRONG!!!
That why I leave the scraper/brush in the Wifeymobile...to which she was thankful she had it coming home yesterday.

HAD to shovel...(around 1715 hrs)

Our Hoosierland weather today will not see any more snow (thank you), but we are starting off with freezing temps, and that means CAUTION on the roads this morning.
Plan on a slower commute, possible idiocy on the streets, people walking everywhere BUT where they should be (which would be the sidewalks), and the other typical winter conditions...got it?
Highs today will reach up above freezing ( 40 degrees), and enough sun to help things out, so another melt cycle begins, before we take on more seasonal conditions tomorrow.
So, with that said, let's get that nice hot cup of our favorite morning beverage as we take a gander at what's been going on in some other places.

The city's FIFTH homicide victim is listed as one Datavis (who the f$ck NAMES these people???) C. Cummings, 22 of Fort Wayne.
(nice mug shot, too - got that "tude" going' on))
This alone leads me to believe that he was NO stranger to the Allen County judicial system.
Bet he wasn't shot over not returning a hymnal to the local church...just got that feeling.
Yep, he's got a rap sheet (big surprise).

I love the quotes from the story (verbatim)...goes to show WHO you might have living near you, and WHY you might not "want" to get to know them all that well. The neighbors say it's "sad"...and "there coulda been children in there"...and "they (the thug shooters) don't care if they hit kids or not".

And one might also call it ghetto-justice of a sort. These people love to "tale care of bid'ness" THEMSELVES, and that's why you have this blatant ANTIPATHY towards law-enforcement...(until they need them).
One neighbor says "We be hearing gunshots every night now, and it'd be like close".
Wonder how councilman Glynn Hines answers THESE problems (wake him up and find out). Can't blame whitey for this, can you?
YOUR people...YOUR problems...YOUR solutions (if you want to work to find them).

*** Last back to the wildlife refuge...you know, human nature is pretty easy to figure out, provisionally-speaking.

If you OBSERVE people well enough, and long enough, you get a distinct sense of who they are and how they will act in most any given situation.
It's not perfect, but pretty damn accurate in many instances.
If any of you have done nothing else, you have taken stock in YOURSELF, and that puts you ahead of the curve when it comes to knowing others.
You've learned what to do and what not to do over the years. You learned how others react to what you do (or do not do).
You know what  makes you happy, sad, angry, frustrated, confused, and so on.
And, hopefully, as a result of accumulating such knowledge and adding in a healthy dose of wisdom along the way, you've managed to do well enough to consider life a lot better than those who do nothing.
We all measure success in different ways, and to ONLY subscribe to WEALTH as THE measure of success is self-defeating.
You can have all the money in the world, and be the worst and most rotten SOB on the planet...hardly successful in the SOCIAL realm, right?

We are all works in progress, and knowing ourselves better attunes us to knowing others.
Sun Tzu knew as much all those centuries ago, and it doesn't have to apply just to our enemies.
Unless we have become our own worst enemy...and that's something we'd rather not embrace, isn't it?
