We are once again making our way to another weekend, and on our way there, we will be encountering some rain.
Yes friends, we don't get nice weather without something else going on.
Our Hoosierland weather will see us with temps rising ALL the way into the UPPER SIXTIES.
BUT...(and it'a a decent but)...we will be seeing RAIN moving in later this morning into the afternoon.
So, if you're expecting a nice sunrise today...ain't happening at ground level, folks.
Take an umbrella with you...it could't hurt.
Now, I've got my cup of coffee riding shotgun here, so you make sure and get your cup or glass of your wake-me-up drink and together we'll see what's going on in "all the old familiar places"...
*** First out of the rain barrel is the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote:
"It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them".
This was spoken by our good buddy, Samuel Langhorne Clemens aka Mark Twain
(30 November 1835 - 21 April 1910).
And here is his WIKI:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Twain
Also, here is the "official" website:
http://www.cmgww.com/historic/twain/
You can read up on him on your own...if you haven't already (and why you waited this long beats me).
*** Next up is the "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
April 2 -
--- Today is MAUNDY/HOLY THURSDAY - in Christian belief, it represents the holding of the last supper between Christ and His apostles.
Here's the WIKI:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maundy_Thursday
---And, it's CHILDREN'S BOOK DAY.
If some people ONLY read more as children... |
Don't bogart that PBJ, Charlie Brown |
I mean, we do have to be clear on this, right?
---And, it's RECONCILIATION DAY.
Progressives...take note!!! |
They might even learn to LIKE it...because Lord knows they haven't got much ELSE going for them.
Moving on...
*** Another robbery that would have one feeling a sense of Deja Vu.
Here's the story link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/police-fire/Dollar-store-robbers-get-cash--cigarettes-5877249
This took place at the DOLLAR GENERAL store located at 1425 Goshen Avenue around 0845 hrs yesterday.
If ONLY they sold donuts... |
After telling the female employee "Be cool and nothing will happen", the robbers took cash from the registers and cigarettes (wanna bet they were Newports?) and exited out the back door. A customer who entered during the holdup was told to sit down. No one was injured.
Now, does this sound JUST LIKE the robbery at the FAMILY DOLLAR that took place this past SATURDAY?
Sure seems like a damn close M.O. between these two robberies.
Let's do some "critical-thinking":
FACT - BOTH robberies committed by TWO black males.
FACT - SIMILAR clothing (all black) worn at both robberies..
FACT - The times of both robberies are SIMILAR (when the store first opens).
FACT - BOTH times, the robbers fled out the BACK door.
FACT - One of the men displayed a black handgun at BOTH robberies.
Now, to me, this appears to be the work of what could be considered the SAME TWO perps.
Smoke 'em if 'ya stole 'em. |
This can be easily explained.
That chunky look is probably due to LAYERED clothing (ditching the all black clothes after the heist).
Aside from that (plus no description of a getaway vehicle (like a white Pontiac), everything else looks to be damn near the same.
Maybe a BOLO should go out for "two black males leaving a trail of NEWPORT cigarette butts"...LOL
I wonder WHEN the video of the holdup will be released? Maybe the FWPD will wait a month or two?
*** Next up, Anyone else noticing this "manufactured crisis" over the RFRA in Indiana?
Time to speak up |
While watching FNC last night (The Kelly File), Former Arkansas Gov, Mike Huckabee made a marvelous statement.
(and I like the guy a lot, even if there is more than meets the eye with him)
He said: "This is not about DISCRIMINATION as much as it's about DISCRETION."
BINGO...he NAILED it.
This is EXACTLY what this is all about.
Now, because I love all of you like family, I'll provide some reasoning behind this, so we'll have to consult Merriam Websters on this one:
===========================
---DISCRIMINATION - noun
An action that denies social participation or human rights to categories of people based on prejudice. This includes treatment of an individual or group based on their actual or perceived membership in a certain group or social category, "in a way that is worse than the way people are usually treated".
1a : the act of discriminating
b : the process by which two stimuli differing in some aspect are responded to differently
2: the quality or power of finely distinguishing
3a : the act, practice, or an instance of discriminating categorically rather than individually
b : prejudiced or prejudicial outlook, action, or treatment
=========================================
---DISCRETION - noun
1. the quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense or revealing private information.
"she knew she could rely on his discretion"
synonyms: circumspection, carefulness, caution, wariness, chariness, guardedness;
2. the freedom to decide what should be done in a particular situation.
"it is up to local authorities to use their discretion in setting the charges"
synonyms: choice, option, preference, disposition, volition;
1: the quality of having or showing discernment or good judgment : the quality of being discreet : circumspection; especially : cautious reserve in speech
2: ability to make responsible decisions
3a : individual choice or judgment
b : power of free decision or latitude of choice within certain legal bounds
4: the result of separating or distinguishing
=========================
There 'ya go...two VERY different things here - now you tell me which one more properly defines this whole flap going on, which has been orchestrated by the "left" and certain groups to minimize or diminish the right to freedom of religion by practicing people of faith?
Sounds like the LEFT is cheering on the discrimination thing, while the conservatives (and Judeo-Christians) are touting their wanting to practice discretion.
You can decide, but it seems all too clear to me...as it has from the start of this contrived chaos.
Smells like Saul Alinsky tactics...and that's never a good thing for a democratic republic (but good for socialists).
*** Pizza shop in Indiana forced to close...for NO reason.
Here's the story:
http://insider.foxnews.com/2015/04/01/indiana-pizza-restaurant-forced-close-after-backlash-refusing-cater-gay-wedding
Memories Pizza in Walkerton, IN (never heard of the town before this) is being forced to close because they refused to cater a gay wedding.
(actually they NEVER catered ANY wedding at all...just some school functions)
Naturally, the owners of the shop are CHRISTIANS...(couldn't see that coming, could we?)
Now, this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with SERVING ANYONE...of ANY FAITH, RACE, NATIONALITY, or SEXUAL PERSUASION.
Hell, most all businesses will serve damn near anyone (within reason vis-a-vis clothed and not psychotic, or brandishing an armory and wanting to commit mayhem).
That kind of (real) discrimination is never allowed anywhere I've seen..
But when people go out of their way to FIND a store that doesn't see things EXACTLY as they do, they flock to it, boycott it, picket in front of it, (threaten to burn it down) and go to social media to close it...WHY???
Leftist mantra. |
You know...when it comes to TOLERANCE, almost all CONSERVATIVES and CHRISTIANS are some of THE most tolerant being on the planet, considering all the crap that gets tossed at them...but those LEFTARDS that preach...(you guess it) TOLERANCE...nowhere close.
Talk about some ULTIMATE HYPOCRISY there, hmm?
The ones who "claim" to be the most tolerant will NOT TOLERATE anyone else who doesn't see things THEIR way.
The worst of the bunch ought to be taken outside and beat within an inch of their pitiful and pathetic lives just to wise 'em all up.
(and that's why I will NEVER be a politician...heh)
*** Last back to the catch-can...after 62 years on this planet, I have seen my share of "knee-jerks"...and a lot of OTHER kind of jerks as well...LOL.
Proudly owned and operated by LIBERALS |
He was once questioned about his views on life by a passenger, to which he replied:
"It's not the ups and downs that bother me...it's the JERKS."
And these days, we're hip-deep in jerks...sad to say.
We once again see those of faith being put upon by the forces of evil.
Maybe it's time for Christians around the world to start practicing some righteous indignation and turn some damn tables over?
When ONE person can dictate to the masses and change the way the masses live, liberty and freedom starts an inexorable march into oblivion.
When laws cater to those who are wrong, rather than to those who are right...we're royally screwed.
When we start allowing people to yell fire in an auditorium (metaphorically-speaking), we are permitting freedom to go beyond it's original intent and purpose.
We should start fighting back to ALL these loons that seek to promote THEIR brand of freedom, because it is NOT, nor ever was what was meant by the meaning of that word.
Such people claim freedom, while denying the same to others....hardly a good trade-off, is it?
Since we seem to want to change things for the sake of change...maybe it's time we "amended" the GOLDEN RULE:
"Do unto others...BEFORE they do unto you."
I still like the ORIGINAL version better...if only the nutjobs out there thought in like manner.
Save a lot of hassle and stop a lot of problems in their track, wouldn't it?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

It's Maundy Thursday! Great post, Bob G. It's almost Friday. I can't wait. I am living for weekends. That is a bad sign. LOL
Momma Fargo:
When it comes to living for weekends...you have LOTS of company, hon!
Literally tens of MILLIONS, in fact.
(include me in that bunch).
Was wondering what YOU think about the robberies...do I make a good case w/ the M.O.s?
(if so, we can create our own "for hire" police force - of TWO...HA!)
On second thought, I don't think anyone could AFFORD the TWO of us at the same time.
Thanks much for rolling on up today and commenting.
Stay safe down there, dear.
Love that quote from Mark Twain.
This whole RFRA thing has warn thin on me. The part that I find really aggravating is all the hyperventilating over a law by people with no understanding of it. The best explanation I've seen so far is this article in The Federalist by Gabriel Malor, who is an attorney and is gay. He tries something radical and actually applies (gasp!) reason and common sense to the issue. Not seeing too many of those things from the MSM these days.
John D.;
It's wearing thin with a LOT of us, my friend.
And some of the LOUDEST antagonists on this are the ones that voted FOR the ORIGINAL 1993 bull...how weird it that?
They can't even recall what they did a couple decades ago...or refuse to remember.
The lame-stream media is either with the leftists..or SILENT.
Glad you found that Twain quote a good one.
I thought it "fit perfectly" to what's going on.
Thanks for stopping by to comment.
You stay safe out there, boss.
I always thing of Holy Thursday as the morning Jesus woke up and never went to sleep again...
"Maybe a BOLO should go out for "two black males leaving a trail of NEWPORT cigarette butts"..." Just how many suspects are you intending to bag? ALL of them?
All I will add to the pizza story is that their are a bunch of good hearted civil libertarians out there that cannot grasp this happening in real life. They are convinced that people would NEVER stoop to such things, and this is all made up.
But it does. And they need to be beaten in the face before they see it.
Chris:
--That waking up an NEVER going to "sleep" again is pretty goof. I will remember that on
--ROFLMAO
Sure, the more the merrier, and I hear there ARE "group rates" at the STATE level...
--Very hood point w/ the libertarians...they are too "good-natured".
They need to KNOW there are CERTAIN people in this world that never deserve "the benefit of the doubt", and we both know WHO they all are, hmm?
Hey, thanks a lot for braving the rain to stop by and comment.
Stay safe (and no tracking muddy feet all over) up there, brother.
