Humpday Happenings...
Well, the nicer day of the week has passed, and it's gonna be a bit more on the lousy side for the remainder of the week...sorry, not my fault.
I will grant you that the START to today looks deceiving with that sunrise (which has gone away in favor of a brief thundershower...you just cannot win here).
The rest of our Hoosierland weather will have temps reaching into the UPPER 80s today (here come summer), some breezes here and there, and then by some time tonight, the rain returns, with showers and storms throughout the night into tomorrow.
And, if you noticed that the sun had a rather ORANGE pall to it (as it did yesterday morning), BLAME CANADA (sounds like a song from South Park) and the wildfires they've had up in the great white north.
Terrence and Philip..THEY did it with their farts!
I usually go with the old adage "Red sky in morning, sailor take warning...red sky at night, sailor's delight". That (pre-summer) sun is burning like a Red Rubber Ball (right, Chris?)
Now, with that behind us, you get your morning drink (hazelnut coffee, extra sweet for me, thanks), and let's see what is going in this crazy world...
*** First out of the ghettohood is our WHO SAID THAT? quote of the week:
"No amount of law-enforcement can solve a problem that goes back to the family."
And, as we can clearly see in many cities in the news recently, this seem to track straight and true.
So, WHO said that anyway?
The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back at the "Palmer Raids"...
*** Next, it's also time for our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
June 10 -
---Today is ICED TEA DAY.
Again, I don't know WHY they pick only ONE day a year for this. I drink it year-round, and am partial to either sweet tea (made at home)...OR raspberry tea.
And since I just ordered a case of raspberry tea from the TWO IF BY TEA website (Rush Limbaugh), we should be getting some by tomorrow.
Gratuitous plug for a VERY GOOD product.
Also, buying it online is cheaper than in stores...if you can FIND it anywhere, as it has limited distribution.
It's even better than Turkey Hill brand tea at Krogers, and that's pretty damn good.
*** Next, we have yet another robbery on the SE side of town, and not that far from our "Fortress".
Here we go AGAIN...
Here's the story link:
http://wane.com/2015/06/09/face-tattooed-gunman-robs-fast-food-restaurant/
Okay, so the Arby's at 403 E. Rudisill was robbed around 1450 hrs yesterday by a person described as a BLACK MALE, with FACIAL TATTOOS, carrying a handgun in his sweatshirt pocket. He demanded money and got away with an undisclosed amount.
BUSTED!  (again)
But, when you have such a "unique" face, like this little baby-momma "angel" (who is the life of parties and wouldn't hurt anyone), it tends to STAND out, especially in a lineup.
So, police were able to ID the suspect as one Anthony S. Tate.
Police located Tate's getaway vehicle and set up a surveillance. Officers initiated a "30T/S" (traffic stop) around 2000 hrs and took Tate into custody.
Tate was wearing clothes he wore during the robbery (rule one - change your attire, dumbass), and also found a handgun (rule two - ditch the firearm ASAP) inside a house he had left..
Okay, so we can conclude that THIS person is NOT the sharpest knife in the damn drawer, right?
As you could expect from many black males down here, Tate DOES have an EXTENSIVE criminal record, and was out of jail ON PAROLE.
(guess that's JUST been REVOKED)
SOP in Fort Wayne
Tate was charged in connection with the 2011 murder of William Fett.Jr. Initially charged with murder, he managed to plea DOWN to a lesser charge which netted him EIGHT years in the hoosegow back in 2012.
Court records indicate Tate was paroled this past January...
Now THAT is what makes the "justice" system flawed...LESS THAN HALF the sentence served...what a f$cking TRAVESTY.
That sends a message to criminals in this city...go ahead and do the crime, the punishment is minimal.
Thanks (again), Karen Richards...good to know the public is at risk as long as you're in office.
Moving on...
*** Next up, the McKinney, TX police corporal who was involved in that "pool party" fiasco (of which only PART of what went down was caught on video) has RESIGNED from the force.
That's a damn shame, considering he was Patrolman of the Year for that town back in 2008. And he was a ten-year Navy vet.
But, we find out that the police chief all but threw corporal Eric Casebolt under the squad car.
Here's the story link:
http://www.fox4news.com/story/29279422/mckinney-officer-resigns-due-to-video-of-pulling-gun-on-teens
Eric Casebolt
Sure there were eleven OTHER officers on scene...AFTER Casebolt was there BY HIMSELF for some time before the others rolled up.
And those two teens coming up on Casebolt's "blind-side" are probably what caused the corporal to draw his weapon and keep it at the ready.
When you're trying to get SOME kind of control of over a HUNDRED rowdy people, you can't see everything everywhere at the same moment.
No ONE person can. So you rely on your training.
Which the police chief didn't want to take into account (damn politician).
Nevertheless, others, along with me have said this is not the last time something like this will occur.
It's all part of a much bigger picture - to (incrementally) deny law-enforcement the ability to properly do their job.
You take one officer out here...another there, and do it in this city, and then that city...and pretty soon, you've got the LEOs looking over their shoulders for all the wrong reasons. That has an empowering effect to the criminal element, which they WILL take advantage of.
And then, we're ALL screwed.
Hope it doesn't come to that.
*** Last back to the station house...I know I get royally pissed off when I see people blatantly ignore others who have the legal authority to "protect and serve" the public.
And, I'm sure many of you feel likewise.
We really don't want the lawlessness of our past to resurface, and certainly not in major population areas of this nation.
We, the people take the time, money and effort to allow our city and town leaders to HIRE them, TRAIN them, and then place them ON OUR STREETS to maintain something we like to call LAW AND ORDER.
Not in THIS country
Naturally, you will have those who break the laws...that's where our LAW-ENFORCEMENT people come in.
It's a very simple equation to understand and one easy enough to balance in both the practical and moral realms.
We either HAVE the police to enforce the laws, and arrest the law-breakers...or we have ANARCHY.
Again, a simple enough premise to comprehend.
And people HAVE to understand this, is they are to be able to live in a civilized society as civilized people.
There will always be that "odd one out" in ANY organization, and they will be dealt with, as law-enforcement is always held to a higher standard.
On the other hand, the POPULACE also has to hold ITSELF to a certain level of standards IF they are to avoid being arrested.
If people cannot control themselves, they have no reason to balk or cry the blues when those tasked to keep our streets safe take such perpetrators down.
That's the job of the police.
OUR job is simple...stay the hell out of trouble, and don't go looking for it.
Sounds like a plan...right?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Sweet tea is horrible. Whomever decided to put sugar in perfectly good straight up tea is a boob. And the dang police issues..poop shit. I figured Casebolt would be done. The media tried him and then his own police chief threw him under the bus on national television as did other law enforcement officials. The racial thing makes me mad. I am so sick of race baiters.

Guilty as charged, officer.
I will make an exception and only YOU can call me "BOOBY" G. - LMAO!
(but NO pink cuffs...okay?)

Sad to say, the lame-stream media will be ALL OVER any situation whenever the police act upon "unarmed and peaceful" citizens (yeah, and I'm the next POPE)
Those teens were there UNINVITED and were causing some personal assaults (according to residents both black and white who were there long before the po-po rolled in).

Looks like the "lefties" will be turning EVERY thing into a "racial" issue.

The good news is that the LAW OF AVERAGES (for success in race-baiting) is STILL on the side of those wearing the white hats.

Let's hope it STAYS that way, hmm?

Thanks for rolling up today and commenting.
Much appreciated.

Stay safe (and fit) down there, dear.

I don't think Casebolt should have lost his job over that incident (barring a past history of problems), but I also don't think he handled things well. Demeanor-wise, he was running way too hot for the situation. Every time I watch that video, I see a guy who's on the ragged edge, emotionally. Not that I'm excusing the behavior of the insufferable spoiled brats he was dealing with, but once you lose control of yourself, you lose control of the situation.

John D.:
I am thinking that Casebolt resigned rather than deal with ALL this damn drama, especially the words his own CHIEF had to say about him.
If anything, the chief SHOULD have taken a NEUTRAL stance, if he cared about the department and HIS officers.
More than likely, the corporal feels he did things by the book, under the circumstances.
Don't know if I could have been any calmer with THAT many teens running about, hurling insults and wanting to keep the mayhem going. It does get the blood rushing.
We know the pool security was way overwhelmed.

Dunno if he was in a cruiser by himself or not, but THIS scenario makes a damn good case for TWO-OFFICER patrol vehicles ALL the time.

I mean you don't make Patrolman of the Year by being bat-sh*t FUBAR on the streets, right?

Hey, thanks for stopping on by today to comment.

You roll safe out there, boss.

On the sun thing- It reminded me that I came across a NASA site that says you can see what noon on Pluto looks like, night wise, by stepping out at a certain time of day here on earth. I did it last week, and it was about a quarter after nine PM our time that equates to Pluto's noon. Kinda a shocked me that it would even be THAT lit up- no red rubber balls there! Maybe a Gallifreyan white point diamond...

That quote came from you and me... just the words are a bit off.

Tea sucks. I just want to go on record with that.

Did you get Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims with that Two if by Tea set?

Dumbass, thy name is facial tattoos. "Nuff said.

Too bad the Blonde Phantom wasn't there to get robbed by the perp she pled out.

I don't blame that LEO for resigning. If the only way your department will stand behind you is with a sharp object, they don't deserve you.

Did you hear the former Brooklyn cop on Rush today? He said that guy went right by the book. "You have to take charge of the situation, and they must COMPLY." Too many people out there are just looking for excuses to bash cops because they got their widdle feelings hurt somewhere down the line.

---All I know the sun did NOT look like SACKCLOTH...lol.
---That quote might be a surprise.
---Some store bought tea sucks (Lipton for example), but I'm of the EARL GREY, OOLONG, DARJEELING, "Limbaugh" & Turkey Hill raspberry teas...ONLY!!!
---The body is a canvass...some people prefer to crap it up with visual garbage.
---That's a great way of putting it!
---Yeah, that NYPD officer knows his stuff...can't argue with that.
That's right...it's the "egging-on" of the local police by "outsiders"...beware, because it's not over yet.

Hey, thanks for swinging on by today to comment.

You stay safe up there, brother.
