30 August 2016

Tuesday Tidbits...
We're told that a cool down is coming. Do we have to wait until October?
Seriously though, temperatures will be easing off a bit...just not today.
Our Hoosierland weather will see us enjoying partly cloudy skies with a late afternoon/early evening chance of some rain. At least we shouldn't have to water the plants. Temps will again wind up in the mid-80s range.
Now, let's get that morning beverage poured and parked nearby as we see what's been going on elsewhere.
*** First off of the sidewalk is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
AUGUST 30 -
---Today is NATIONAL TOASTED MARSHMALLOW DAY
(looks like they;'re grasping at straws now, because it's the only thing going on)
*** Next up, and because it IS Tuesday, let's take a look at ALL the police calls dealing with illegal guns and the morons carrying them, shall we (because the media won't)?

*** And let's see about those fireworks...
FIREWORKS CALLS 8/22 -8/28 -
NO fireworks calls!
Holy crap...HOW did that happen???
*** Next, we seem to have made it to TWENTY-SIX HOMICIDES in Fort Wayne with this story:
http://wane.com/2016/08/30/deadly-shooting-follows-fight-at-gas-station/
Yeah, never argue at a gas station with  4-5 (black) males, because they WILL follow you home and kill you in your driveway (because they can and are not man enough to walk the hell away and always have to display the "alpha-male" persona (with a gun, becasue they can't fight worth a damn either).
Down in the ghettohood.
This took place around 2315 hrs in the 2900 block of Stardale Drive - SE side...where else?
When police arrived, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The ONLY description was that the males left in a white Chevy.
A Chevy WHAT? Equinox? Terrain? Malibu? Impala? Yukon,? Got a feeling we can rule out Camaro and Corvette here as well as the Chevy Volt.
*** Next up, they released the names and mugs of the three involved in the shooting death of Alonna Allison.
Here's the update:
http://wane.com/2016/08/28/source-3-arrested-in-connection-to-alonna-allison-murder-case/
JavarisTravier   Darrion Bright  Joshua Smiley
The perps are Joshua Smiley, Darrion Bright, and Javaris Travier are the 19-year old losers being charged.
But what pisses me off, is that the only charge is CRIMINAL RECKLESSNESS!!!
There is a dead teen, and that's the BEST the prosecutor's office can pull from thier alimentary canal? At least go for unintentional manslaughter.
These three won't be in jail more than a couple years and then they're back out on our streets to pull this crap again. Hardly justice being served (imho).
*** Next, up, crime makes it way to near NW Fort Wayne in the form of graffiti.
Here's that story:
http://wane.com/2016/08/29/15-houses-vandalized-with-spray-paint-on-northside/
Apparently, we have some punk-ass teens with too much time on their hands and too few brain cells to make that time worthwhile. This was discovered Sunday morning along 4th st W. Peoples property had been tagged with different colors of paint.
One man's new Camaro had been sprayed and scratched (he plans to move out).
That's what these predators want...for you to MOVE, so they can take over.
Sad part about doing that, is that eventually, you WILL run out of places to run to, right?
*** Next, We lost Gene Wilder yesterday, and cinematic comedy will not be the same.
Here's the WIKI:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Wilder
Jerome Silberman from Milwaukee,Wisconsin...who knew?
And yes, after being sent to Black Foxe, a military institute in Hollywood, he suffered from anti-Semitism while in attending there, being bullied and sexually harassed because he was the only Jewish student at that place.
Wilder was drafted into the army in 1956, and eventually wound up in Valley Forge Army Hospital as a medic (dept of psychiatry and neurology) in Phoenixville, PA.
It wasn't until he found his way to Cambridge, Mass that his acting took hold (in Twelfth Night). He also served as a fencing choreographer.
It was when he was cast in a production starring Anne Bancroft (1963) that he met her "boyfriend" Mel Brooks, and the rest, as we say...is history.
Such great performances when those two teamed up. The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein...all of them comedy classics.
And who could forget his portrayal of Willy Wonka?
Willy knew how GOVERNMENT worked all too well.
The WIKI is a good read. And yes, his work will live on.
*** Next up...we continue with "The Hobo Chronicles"...
Nothing to do and lots of time to do it.
It was an almost lack-luster day (for a change), but our little buddy does have this knack of disappearing for brief spells, and calling him does no good.
There was ONE event that caught my attention (and fortunately that was ALL that was "caught".
Hobo was crouched down in a stalking mode looking at  this tree. Well, Patches was at the base of the tree staring back.
I thought it best they split them up, so I got the small kibbles container and shook it (the sound ALWAYS attracts Hobo).
The effect was not what I hoped for. Patches stood upright as if to say "Hi Bob...you got treats for ME???"
Hobo dashed to the tree, and Patches went up...then they played the "peek-a-boo" game.
"What have we here?"
Luckily, Hobo came back in the yard and on the patio, unable to play with Patches (thank God).
Crisis averted!
*** Last back to the driveway, there seems to be no end to the violence around us.
Sure, we have our time of peaceful living, but it always seems interrupted by the assholes that have to "do their thing", and usually, there is chaos in their wake.
Sure, it's okay to be a FREE society, but free to create and sustain mayhem?
It's like yelling "fire" in a theater, but exponentially worse, AND on a near daily basis.
People need to tone their tendencies towards violence down a few notches for starters.
Such behavior gets nobody anywhere, and few to the hospital...or morgue.
In some ways, We seem to be moving AWAY from a democratic republic and CLOSER to becoming some sort of "Idiocracy" (which is not a bad movie, and makes fun of stupid-ass people in the future).
I'm not a fan of Luke Wilson, yet the premise is pretty good.
People need to just learn to take life easy, and I don't mean seek the east way out. We've too many lazy-asses sucking on government teats as it is...don't need more, do we?
They should learn how important (and precious) LIFE really is. Back away from the drama and look at all life has to offer (and not at the cost of others).
If they were all a bit more appreciative, and respectful, and maybe ahd a better sense of moral behavior, we would never have gotten to this point where it looks like all may be lost.
They should attempt  to give it a try, at least.
Be well, make a difference s to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

I'm so very sad about Gene Wilder. At least we can still see him in his past films. He will always be one of the greats. And why don't you find Friday? I need it.

Momma Fargo:
Wilder and Brooks were a wonderful comedic match-up.
Life seems so damn inevitable some days when it comes to people passing away.

I don't think we'll have to find Friday.
It will definitely find US...lol.

Thanks for roiling up to comment.

You stay safe down there, Kiddo.

A-HA! I finally got here before YOU commented on one of MY posts! Either that, or your attempt didn't work...

Hey, what was up with the stabbing out by you guys? Had me worried until I read, "the victim was stabbed by a woman he knows..." And I know you can't piss her off THAT bad.

Some jerk kids with some likely stolen spray paint that think they are all that. Down the road will suck for them.

I heard it suggested Wilder would have made a good Doctor by the kids in Time Crash. "At the very least", they said, "We know he was a Time Lord."

Only you could give small animals "confused identities", lol!

Idiocracy- was that the one where the greeter stands at the Costco door saying, "Welcome to Costco, I love you", over and over?

Nah...didn't get there yet, but soon.
---The stabbing happened around 5:45 AM - 4300 block)...guess you CAN'T go get the morning paper...heh.
---A REAL shame it forces good people OUT - that just lets the BAD one in.
---Wilder a TIME LORD...that clinches it for me!
---Maybe I should consider THAT another hobby? LOL.
---Yeah...I wish they'd run it again, but I think some people confuse it with the HISTORY channel.

Thanks for stopping on by today (uh, oh...I heard thunder). Here comes the rain again...
(shades of the Eurythmics)

Stay safe (and dry) up there, brother.
