Humpday Happenings...
I'm afraid we might have a bit of a soggy hump to get over today. Looks like we could be in for some less than fair conditions.
Our Hoosierland weather will see us with mostly cloudy skies, and a very good chance of rain. That's not to say that it will be raining ALL day, even though we might get a thunderstorm tossed in the mix.
Temperatures will top out in the mid 60s, so we won't feel the humidity near as much.
So let's get the day started with a nice comforting drink as we see what's been going on elsewhere...
*** First off of the front steps is our WHO SAID THAT? quote of the week:
"If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things."
In times such as these, the truth can be elusive, unless we know where to look, and, as this saying goes, come to not take everything at "face-value".
There is always a time to question something or someone.
So, WHO said that?
The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back in the realm of analytical geometry...
*** Next up, we have our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
SEPTEMBER 28 -
---Today is NATIONAL DRINK BEER DAY
(this would make a lot more sense if it were on a WEEKEND)
---It's NATIONAL GOOD NEIGHBOR DAY
(be nice to have one where we live...like in times long past)
---It's also NATIONAL STRAWBERRY CREAM PIE DAY
(another wonderful day for pie)
---And, it's NATIONAL WOMEN'S HEALTH AND FITNESS DAY
(and what goes on the other 364 days?)
*** Next, a breaking story, and one that should have Fort Wayne residents a bit on-edge:
http://www.wowo.com/reports-robbery-zx-gun-investigation-underway/
And this from WPTA:
http://www.21alive.com/news/breaking-news/Fort-Wayne-gun-shop-robbed-395085971.html
Seems the ZX GUNS store on W. Coliseum Blvd was hit (literally) early this morning (0430 - 0500 hrs) when an SUV (probably stolen) crashed through the store window. An undisclosed number of firearms were taken. (surveillance video should help a lot). You KNOW the BATFE will be in all over this one like white on rice. Better start monitoring the SE side (if the guns didn't head to Chicago first).
*** Next up, another homicide in Fort Wayne, which brings us to 37 for the year (and counting).
Here's the story:
http://wane.com/2016/09/27/body-found-in-wooded-area-along-wallen-road/
(( The body of  Frank Macomber, 66, was discovered in a wooded area in the 6600 block of Wallen Road early Tuesday morning. ))
I would take this to mean that since he was found (shot to death) in Allen County, this does qualify.
That would take us to 37 homicides, right?
(unless another was snuck in under our noses)
The mother who killed her two children has not been charged in THIS homicide yet, as the investigation is still in it's preliminary stage.
*** Next, our 36th homicide victim has been ID'ed Here's that story:
http://wane.com/2016/09/26/police-investigate-shooting-on-fort-waynes-south-side/
Jamarkis Javon Carter, 40, has made the deadpool for this year.
(how many different ways can you spell "Jamarkis" anyway?)
This was the shooting that took place Monday in the 4400 block of Warsaw (less than a 1/4 miles from the "Fortress").
*** Next up, a golf course becomes an impromptu police chase scene.
Here's the story:
http://wane.com/2016/09/27/high-speed-chase-goes-through-fort-wayne-golf-course/
This took place up on Reed Rd Tuesday afternoon (time not given), when police tried to pull over Kareem McPherson (doesn't quite sounds SCOTTISH to me, laddie) for dealing drugs in local hotels.
Tore that bad boy UP!
At one point, McPherson veered off the road and onto Autumn Ridge Golf Course, and tore up a green and a fairway.
Speeds reached 120 mph, and Fort Wayne police ended the chase at the Dekalb county line.
And, if the name Kareem McPherson (from DETROIT) sounds FAMILIAR, here's a blast from the recent past:
http://wane.com/2016/05/12/police-arrest-3-men-after-pursuit/
Lock THIS f*cker the hell UP!!!
So, WHY was he even back on our STREETS AGAIN???
Thankfully, officers in Dekalb county were able to make a stop and arrest McPherson, who faces drug dealing charges as well as resisting arrest. He also probably pissed off some golfers at Autumn Ridge...and they all have CLUBS! Turn THEM the hell loose on his sorry ass.
Wanna maybe KEEP his black ass in JAIL this time?
*** Next, Fort Wayne City Council votes down a tax cut. Here's the story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/Business-tax-stays--council-decides-15495443
It would appear to me that the council is only looking at the short-term picture here. Besides, what have I said about TAXES?
"Once a tax, always a tax"...that's the way it seems to always go, right?
Rare is the time when a tax is lowered and rarer still are the times when a tax is totally eliminated...at ANY level of government.
That's just the nature of that beast.
*** Next up, the people working on the house across the street decided to cut back more foliage and then take to having a bonfire to get rid of it, rather than haul it all away.
Yeah, tell me that when you have a house that needs major interior work to bring it up JUST to code, the best thing to do is bother with outdoor foliage that's not even overgrown? Where the hell are your priorities, Paco?
(why yes, they are Latino...not gonna find whites buying a house down here, thanks to the crime and realtors who can't sell properties due to that...and blacks just rent the cribs through government-sponsorship)
Still, it makes a nice area to trespass for kids in the area, who should be elsewhere.
I'll tell 'ya...if there is ANY way to do something ass-backwards where we live, people down HERE will find that way, and with relative ease. That's the scary part. That's when they're not shooting at one another.
*** Next, another chapter in "The Hobo Chronicles"...
Our furry feline seemed to take a day off from the "antics" displayed over the previous days, and stayed a lot closer to "home", as it were.
So, it was time for acting cute...and eating...and resting...and even sitting on my lap.
Sorry, no way to get a picture of the lap-cat by myself (way too close), and Wifey's never around with her camera...lol.
He gave me a start yesterday. I went to feed him and he didn't show up. The food sat for over a half hour before he decided to come back and get his grub...little stinker.
Can't eat when you don't show up, right?
*** Last back to the driveway...today's quote mentions being able to doubt.
Anyone who is the least bit learned will tell you this happens, and more frequently then they would like.
It's the people who take everything as gospel, no matter how counter it may run to reason or truth that become the problem with any society.
There's where we find ourselves in America today.
The propagandists have  fairly free reign to put whatever they want into the heads of our people.
Just look at the secondary educational system to see that happening.
The leftists have become the majority of professorial educators in our country.
How can you debate issues and beliefs when any conversation becomes so one-sided?
Such pablum is being tossed at us daily from many sources such as  every media source known to mankind.
It's up to EACH of us to become a lot more discerning whenever we see or hear something that sounds a little bit "off". It may be a LOT more off than you thought, and it's wise to look deeper into it. I think we all need to stop this belief in anything that some people say, simply because THEY say it.
We ALL answer to a much higher authority, and I'm sure whatever HE has to say should carry more weight than anything said by man.
And when we make the choice to answer to THAT authority, first and foremost, we ALL become better people.
Sounds like a plan, right?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Soggy? Try monsoon. Ick. But the plants need it except for the crops. Farmers are ready for harvest. Love your feline pics. LOL. I wish I could lay around like that. Have a great day, Bob!

Hey there...missed seeing 'ya around here.

Monsoon?
Not up here (yet). You must be getting the brunt of the rain. ALL light stuff where we're at (so far).

I wish I could also lay around like that -got things to do around the "Fortress"...all the time.

Thanks for rolling up and commenting.
You have yourself a great day down there, dear.

Macomber: And now we find that her baby-daddy was found chopped in half in a woods several years ago- case unsolved. Next on Criminal Minds...

"how many different ways can you spell "Jamarkis" anyway?" Lessee. with a divide at "Ja", or one word; with a c, k, or both; with an i, e, or ou; and an apostrophe after up to 7 or eight letters of each, I estimate 500+ just from THOSE rules.

McPhereson- remember, dealers can afford GOOD lawyers. Many prolly contribute to the "re-elect the Blonde Phantom" fund.

BTW, in case I forget tomorrow while doing TM prep: I wish I woulda known about (insert food being celebrated that I actually like) Day before now; King Henry's an ass clown; and, "It's that liberal mindset that f's everything up around here." Just copy and paste everything into the right spot and I'll fix it up later.

Hey, that's an idea- the do-it-yourself comment! Put my comment together for tomorrow, Robert, and I'll post about it Monday, with your appropriate return comment already added! This could be a lotta fun!

Chris:
---I think you got something there.
This whole case sounds like something you'd find in a Criminal Minds script.
---The Chris Martin Tome of Ebonicized Spelling...HEH!
(so when's the new edition going to press, boss?)
---With this blog, you can always find the perp...that never gets old. They can't get away from me.
Good lawyers - and what did Shakespeare say about lawyers in general, hmm?
(yeah, he was SO right)
---LOL...Yo, even I don't get off THAT easy, buster.
even though some days down here seem a tad on the repetitious side when it comes to crime.
No comments by proxy permitted by order from the Guild of Fellow Time-Lords & Part-Time Avengers...HA!
