It's starting out as another very nice day in the heartland with mild conditions outside.
I hear there is rain coming, probably by later on tonight.
Still, we won't let that put a damper on things, right?
Our Hoosierland weather for today finds us partly cloudy (or partly sunny, depending on your disposition) skies with temps starting off in the lower 50s. rising to around 70 degrees.
It could always be worse.

Much of it has to do with that video of Trump saying "inappropriate" things regarding women to someone else.
Whether or not it's considered inappropriate depends on the CONTEXT of the video.
And, as usual, the leftards WILL throw context out the window with the bath water.

Sound a bit FAMILIAR?

To be honest, this instance was nothing any different from typical male "bar room" or "locker room" talk.
That's just the way ALL men are. They will talk about things in "private" that they dare not speak in public.
It's not like this was done during a worldwide telecast of some interview.
The left LOVES to practice character assassination...it's the only card they have left for them to play, because they don't stand for anything containing substance..at least not since JFK. And HE was quite the "womanizer", as well., wasn't he?
So, it's okay for the dems to pull this kinda thing off, but heaven help any republican that even SAYS anything along those lines...yep, a double-standard...right in front of everyone.
The dems CREATE and shape our culture (far removed from what America should be standing for) and then castigate anyone who, in the slightest way FOLLOWS the culture, because they're on the other side of the political aisle.
That is utter nonsense. It's why this election cycle has turned into the sideshow freak we've allowed it to become.

I mean, we don't want those "smart" phone blowing the hell up, do we?
That would cause people to knee-jerk themselves into believing another terrorist attack was being waged.
Maybe these phones are becoming TOO smart and are committing SUICIDE to prevent having to deal with the idiocy in the world?
They may be onto something...lol.

The board prez, Mark GiaQuinta still laments the state-imposed tax cap on properties. Boo-hoo.
The caps are in place to keep properties from becoming ARTIFICIALLY-INFLATED so all these entities can't tax the crap out of us, right? Jack up the value of a property, and you can EASILY assess higher taxes from said property owners.
Simple economics (for the greedy).
Still, there are needs in the FWCS as far as building repairs and such which need to be addressed.
And I just know that because of the passage of this budget, the graduation rates will SOAR, students will ALL go to college with straight "A"s and  teachers will get the raises they deserve for playing "nursemaid" to these urchins...right?
Yeah, I can dream.

Wifey and I might be going to this gig they have this weekend and check things out. We might even come way with a FREE shelter (even though I already bought the essentials to build our own).

Plenty of things to do yesterday, like check all the shrubs for mice (guess we'll not see any around), visit different places in the area (unfortunately, some mook neighbors with no sense to speak of, toss food all over, and we know animals LOVE that, hence the raccoon problems).
But, after all was said and done, it was time to take things easy (as if Hobo doesn't revel in that enough).

"Now, I just need a nap".

As long as he keeps finding his way BACK here to the "Fortress", he'll always have a meal and some hands to rub his fur when he needs it.
*** Last back to the litter pan...What do we mean by our AMERICAN culture?

And, I'm not talking about the rote answer; the one some of us still recall from history.
I mean the culture that (these days) sadly has this nasty tendency to get up in our face damn near DAILY.
I can clearly see that we (as a people) don't choose to embrace a culture that made us prosper as a nation. Sure a few will do exceedingly well no matter what, and yet, are as changing as the wind when it comes to their true allegiance, but what about the normal and average Jane and Joe Doe?
What does America mean to THEM these days?
It certainly is no longer the world of the Cleavers, is it?
We sent that packing during the counter-culture "revolution" of the 1960s, and apparently never looked back.
This revolution was fostered and nurtured by the progressives...that much is given, and we've been manipulated into thinking that such notions and beliefs were in OUR "best interest".
(that was a crock of shit from the get-go)
Well, after all this time, and all those failed (and costly)  programs to move this agenda forward, we SHOULD be noting that we've been sold the proverbial BILL OF GOODS, and have nothing to show for it, except aberrant behaviors, lack of principles, and values whose only worth is something to flush down the crapper.

This is no longer a nation that sets the bar, but rather BARS people from wanting to speak out or to take back those values and principles (written down by God-fearing men with a real sense of morality) that would steer us clear of the shoals of anarchy.
Our culture is no longer OUR OWN, and that's a very sad state of affairs.
But, if there is little to smile about, there IS always...hope.
And such hope drives beliefs, and words,  and actions.
May we all be up to the task in this regard...our future depends upon it.
