Tuesday Tidbits...
Alright, so it's another soggy day. Beats shoveling snow, doesn't it?
March has been known for those wacky freak snowfalls. Hell, I've seen them in May.
But, there's none of that on our horizon.
Our Hoosierland weather will see us with windy conditions through most of the day. The rain will be tapering off and we should see the sun by sometime this afternoon.
Temps will top out around 59 degrees.
Take the umbrella and  light jacket anyway. You'll need it this morning.
Now, what say we get that morning drink poured as we see what's going on elsewhere, hmm?
*** First off of the driveway is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
MARCH 7 -
---Today is National Be Heard Day
(shout louder than the leftards, and you will be)
---It's National Pancake Day @ IHOP
(since we don't have one of THOSE down here as well, gonna make my own)
---It's National Cereal Day
(good backup if there's no pancakes)
---It's National Crown of Roast Pork Day
(Kinda fancy for a day other than a Sunday in my book, but still tasty)
*** Next, time once again to see ALL the important police calls the media didn't bother with, because they're way too busy touting trivial PCBS:

FIREWORKS CALLS 02/27 - 03/05 -
NONE (can you believe THAT?
*** Next up, finally, a decent sentence handed down in Fort Wayne. Here's the story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/courts/190-years-levied-for-triple-killing-18123184
Yep, 190 YEARS for this thug (Artavius Richards) participation in the Lewis St. triple shooting last year. Sixty years each for the killings and TEN years for the firearms use in the commission of the crimes.
Now THAT sounds about right.
Hey, with "good behavior", he could be out in HALF that time...say 95 years...LOL.
One less violent felon roaming our streets...only several hundred MORE to go, right?
His partner, Darrell McDaniel gets 20 years (thanks to a plea agreement).
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
*** Next, police are looking an attempted robbery suspect. Here's the story:
http://wane.com/2017/03/06/police-investigating-attempted-robbery-at-t-mobile-store/
Okay, so we have another male (black) trying to rob a T-Mobile store up on Maysville Rd.
The first time, he shoplifted from the store. This time around, he tried to trick an employee into opening the safe (where he said his wife's phone was...whatta load of bullshit). Kept his hand in his pocket as if he had a weapon.
When the employee told the man that 911 had been dialed, he left the store and got into a gold 1990s Lincoln (most likely, a Towncar).
I could swear I've seen that car around our part of the city passing through. Police might want to check out the SE side.
They just might find him and that car. It does sort of stand out.
*** Next up, The longtime host of Turner Classic Movies (since the day it began back in 1994) has passed away. Here's the story link:
http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/robert-osborne-dead-dies-tcm-host-1202002748/
Robert Osborne, who I came to know as someone who could always teach me something more about the movies I was watching with his knowledge of these films, actors and back-stories, has left us at the age of 84.
When it comes to cable channels, I would have to consider TCM one of the best and most HONEST channels out there.
No pretense, no politics, just good old classic films, shown without interruption and in their original cinematic entirety.
Ben Mankiewicz has done an admirable job taking over for Osborne, and I'm sure will continue to do so.
*** Next, Let's take a stop over at "Kitten Corner"...
Lounging IS my life.
Our twosome were not without their own unique brand of nuances.
While Gallifrey likes to lounge about (when he's not chasing his "sister"), Violet will roam about, and usually seeks me out just to get her daily dose of rubbing.
Violet borrows her brother's rug.
That's not to say he doesn't - but he likes for you to be doing something when he wants HIS rubbing, just so he can get attention. I see him sizing me up from the other room, and then he walks faster until hes up int he lap. With Wifey, he comes from behind and onto her lap in the family room.
I have to be wary of them trying to use anything other than the scratching post for well...scratching. And it's for THIS reason that I'm glad Wifey and I don;t have new furniture about. The microfiber sofas they have out today don't look like they would hold up near as well as the older stuff we currently have. A blessing in disguise.
*** Last back to the garage...there are many things in life you have to watch out for.
Perhaps one of the most important ones is that thing called a precedent.
(not to be confused with a president).
A precedent is an earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide to be considered in subsequent similar circumstances. We come across these more often than we realize.
What was and what will be can, many time butt heads, like with the ACA, or The Smokers Bill of Rights.
Without getting in either of those, let's just say that any changes to such things (as well as many others) never comes without a cost farther down the line.
What you establish as a "law of the land" can have consequences you never envisioned. And this is an aside from the personal precedents you might set for either yourself, or your family.
Granted, life is full of constant change, but it doesn't mean you have to change along with it all the time.
You CAN (and many times should) stand firm with the beliefs YOU have come to know are right, and just, and true.
Your decisions (based on those values) help shape the process and you, as a person in this regard.
It's fine to adapt yourself to a specific facet of life, as long as you never sacrifice the principles behind who you are or what you do. And, I think that's about as honest a way to go through life as can be achieved. And never change for the sake of change.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Stay SAFE out there, America." Whoa. You have turned Zen on me, but I like it! Great post, Bob. This drizzly weather is better than snow. We are flooding down in the near south central.

---That's just my usual "sign-off". Glad you like it. It's just what I try to practice daily.
---I'm trusting the water farther south doesn't rise TOO far. Hate to see the Harry Potter House become an ARK!
---Hope you're feeling better, too.
The whole "getting older" thing isn't something I take to kindly. Basically, it sucks, right?
---Also, I am nursing the hell outta that coffee, too. Love it! Still have about half of it left...lol.

Thanks for rolling up and commenting today.
Much appreciated.

Stay safe (and dry) down there, dear.

Chris:
---I totally agree.
He's become a financial burden to the taxpayers now. Cheaper to off them. Eye-for-an-eye time.
---They always provide a level of amusement not seen in some time.
---I hope it's a GOOD surprise...we like those.

Thanks for swinging by and commenting.

Stay safe (and comfortable with this crazy weather) up there, brother.
