Tuesday Tidbits...
Looks to be a bit on the foggy side this morning...enough to cause a 2-hour delay for all the schools in the area.
Personally, I like not being able to see the other houses around us (for a change)...lol.
Makes me think the morons have all moved away (wish to hell they would).
"Solitude's not a bad thing, as long as it doesn't keep getting interrupted."
(You may quote me)
Now, THIS is a proper fog.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us mostly cloudy skies with this fog going away before noontime. Our high today will reach up to 53 degrees (again?).
So, let's all get that morning drink as we see what's been going on elsewhere...
*** First out of the fog bank is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
MARCH 21 -
---It's National California Strawberry Day
(from the land of fruits and nuts...how about that)
---It's National Common Courtesy Day
(another day wasted on all libtards and the ethnics where we live)
---It's National Fragrance Day
(make it a good one, because the SE side stinks to high heaven)
---It's National French Bread Day
(as long as it's baked HERE, got no problem)
---It's National Single Parent Day
(cripes that's EVERY baby-mama living around us down here...WOW!)
---It's National AG Day
(it's an agriculture thing)
*** Next up, and because it's a Tuesday, it's time to show all the police calls that we should have been made aware of, but we not (the media wss too busy picking nits):

===========================
FIREWORKS CALLS 03/13 - 03/19 - NONE (???)
===========================
Huh...WHAA???
Did all our criminals take an early VACATION?
I haven't seen such a low amount of these crimes in YEARS.
But don't think that NO crimes occurred.
We had PLENTY of traffic stops, disturbance calls, domestics and plain old theft calls.
Guess the idiots just got lazy (more than they usually are).
*** Next, ANOTHER program targeting "at-risk" youth in the Summit City
(I'm loosing count now) Here's the story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/Police-reaching-out-to-city-s-youth-18359222
Now, before people start jumping all over me for taking this with a grain of salt, bear with me.
I consider EVERY child down here AT RISK, simply because of the atmosphere and environs on the SE quadrant. Plus, few are really supervised and allowed to roam all over.
But about this program...on first inspection, this "Blue Bucket Brigade" SEEMS like a good program - police working with youth to allay their trepidation about dealing WITH the police. That's all well and good.
But the kids DID get free t-shirts.
MY concern is with what is passing for "parents" of these kids, who still have that problem with law-enforcement (and many have been arrested already). THEY have the chip on their shoulder about cops...that's a given, and will try to instill a similar mindset with their kids...that's why we have the problems we do - generational distrust and disdain for police.
It's similar in nature to the same issue a school teacher or even a Sunday school teacher has - not being able to UNDO the  bad influences encountered AT HOME (the rest of the week) in the time allotted to you.
That's why we have the discipline issues at our schools...bad home lives spilling over, and a serious misplacement of priorities
Doesn't make for a positive condition that promotes values and principles these kids need.
I'd like to see this program work (where the myriad of others have not), but I'm not holding my breath.
*** Next, a project that I feel will actually net better results than the previous one.
Here's the story:
http://wane.com/2017/03/20/sheriff-k-9-center-embarassing-new-facility-in-the-works/
A NEW K-9 facility for the ACSD's four-legged "officers".
Considering the lousy conditions the dogs have had available to them, it's about time that something better was had for the canines, and Sheriff Gladieux wants to make this happen,
County Council already gave the department a "jump-start" with $650,000 tp get the facility construction started.
Money for the facility comes from illegal drug money seizures (damn fine use there).
I mean, when the dogs have to be housed off site when winter hits, you KNOW you need something better.
*** Next, how about we stop on by "Kitten Corner"...
The twosome were unbelievably well-behaved yesterday. Hard to tell if they were still in the house.
"What's my brother doing now?"
After I posted the blog, they came into the living room, stretched out and napped for several hours while I watched some television. That was amazing to see.
They seem to get rambunctious after Wifey comes home...dunno why, either.
"What's it look like? I'm napping."
Still, a decent trade-off to have the "kids" close by AND not chasing each other all over.
And you can't get angry or stay angry at them...they play their cuteness at you every time.
*** Last back to the culvert...changing the hearts and minds of Americans - easier said than done, right?
A new program, like the one mentioned above for youth) designed to do much the same as many previous programs often reminds me of Einstein's "definition" of insanity,
That means doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.
Perhaps this is where we wind up...driving ourselves insane, wondering what we can do to keep today;s youth from becoming tomorrow's criminals. Well, that's not going to be an easy fix, because too many genies have been let out of too many bottles over the past several decades.
No one reads the labels these days.
When we, as a society. started catering to the "feelings" of our youth (the self-esteem factor), we started loosing many fo them. Trouble is, THEY grew up and became many of those "government-sponsored" leeches of the state, full of expectation of what they feel they're ENTITLED to have, rather than working to achieve a similar net result.
It's little wonder that we have generations with that mindset, and to attempt to break that mold will be a difficult task, as such people have gotten USED to this lifestyle - one of self-indulgence, rather than self-sufficiency.
When you reward people for "just showing up", that's not progress. It's more like de-evolution of the species.
Even our pets get rewards for doing SOMETHING...are people any less than that?
Let's hope not...we have a future riding on such things, don't we?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Well at least for a short time the Blue Bucket Brigade have positive influences. If their parents are poops, they will not change, but perhaps the experience will settle well with the yoots. The parents are hopeless at this point. Now it's the village's turn.

---I feel the same way about the LENGTH OF TIME that this program (or any one) will have the effect wanted by those pushing it.
---The kids will get something out of it, BUT, when they have to go back HOME and deal with those raising them, all bets are off again.
---"The village's turn"...funny, I thought the village had been trying to raise the kids of those irresponsible jackholes for years?
(sorry, we have two cats...we're "full up"...LOL.)

Hey, thanks for rolling up today to comment.
Much appreciated.

Stay safe dowmn there, dear.

Shots fired- check the dates against EBT payouts and ammo price increases.

Your concern with the Blue Bucket program is very valid. I think we'd be getting a lot more kids involved in better things if they weren't being created by such wastes.

And your comment in the close was right on as well. The failure of so many programs comes from, "Well, we aren't getting the numbers." But the problem is, they never look at WHY the numbers aren't there- why the kids aren't being reached? Why aren't the parent(s) bringing them? No, it's easier to just make a big splash, let it fail, say, "Well that didn't work", and then do the same thing under different packaging. God forbid you learn from the last program.

---I DID...that's what AMAZES me...LOL!
(even checked liquor store sale items)
---You know, that's a VERY good point, but "whitey" can't be involved in such things...plus, REAL (black) LEADERS are in such SHORT supply, AND tend to be more CONSERVATIVE. That's often a bad fir for areas like ours, sad to say.
---My friend, when such issues (and programs created to help in such matters) become ONLY a "numbers game", you can predict the results.
Besides, it's DAMN hard to UNDO whatever kids are learning in a dysfunctional home in a couple hours when what passes as parents have them for the REST of any given week.
That's what broke my heart teaching Sunday school (and Vacation Bible School). Thing was, the kids LOVED attending. I figure it got 'em out of a bad situation for a spell.

Thanks much for stopping by and taking some time to speak your mind.
Always appreciated.

Stay safe (and less foggy) up there, brother.
