Tuesday Tidbits...
Now that was nice to have those thunderstorms move through yesterday evening and night.
Couldn't hear a single boom car...lol. Leave it to Mother Nature to do something that our police (obviously) cannot.
Hey, I'll take any help I can get from any source when it come to quelling the rolling morons around here.
Never would have expected Indiana to be worse than Philly in this regard.
Speaking of which, our Hooiserland weather for today sees an end to the rain (damn), partly cloudy skies (which means more sunshine) and a high of around 63 degrees, which isn't bad at all.
Now, how about we all get that morning drink to chase the slumber away, as we see what's been going on elsewhere, hmm?
*** First off of the patio table is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
APRIL 11 -
---It's National Barbershop Quartet Day
(hard to even find a REAL barbershop these days)
---It's National Cheese Fondue Day
(so do you...fondue?)
---It's National Eight Track Tape Day
(looking back, I wonder why they even invented this)
---It's National Pet Day
(We have this covered twice over again)
---It's National Submarine Day
(and here I was hoping for an Italian sandwich)
---It's National Library Worker's Day
(at least it's a QUIET job)
*** Next up, and since it IS Tuesday, let's look at ALL those police calls we SHOULD have heard about...but did not, because the media was busy busting on the Gorsuch appointment to the Supreme Court...

===========================
FIREWORKS CALLS 04/03 - 04/09
NONE - AGAIN? Amazing!
===========================
*** Next, finally got ourselves a 6-pack of Yuengling Lager over the weekend, and it meets the stringent "seal of approval" of we at the "Fortress".
They didn't have any Black and Tan at the grocery and the traditional lager was the last one left, so I'm taking that to mean that it's popular (at $7.49 a six-pack, it's not AS popular as I'd like to see it).
It's actually cheaper (per bottle) to get a TEN-pack at $10.99 (Krogers).
Next time, I'll remember that.
Still, it's a nice change of pace once in a while.
*** Next, Wifey and I also have gotten our registrations in the mail over the weekend as well.
That didn't take long at ALL, but it sure (as hell) is getting damn expensive.
In all my years driving (since the mid-70s), I have NEVER paid this much for ANY vehicle (only had 3 so far anyway).
Close to $65 bucks for a f*cking STICKER?
I had a better deal in PA when I at least got an embossed metal PLATE with my damn sticker. What's the problem? Don't want to work the damn PRISON INMATES too hard while they're watching cable, and playing with their electronic tablets?
Wifey also got her license renewed (nice mug shot). They tell you to not smile, so it looks like you got a stick up your butt.
Yeah, well I tend to smile if I ever get pulled over by a cop (because I'm not a prick) and when I have to show my ID someplace, I'm usually smiling, so WTH?
Let people smile (it makes others wonder WTF you got going on).
*** Next up, what's ONE thing we, on the SE side seem to have in such abundance?
If you said CRIME or criminal activity, I would accept that, but it's NOT the answer I was looking for. Same goes for if you said CHURCHES...or even STRIP CLUBS...lol.
If you said GAS STATIONS, go to the head of the wanted list down here.
And here's a story that has people trying to stop two more from coming:
http://www.journalgazette.net/20170411/gas-stations-hearing-delayed
One of two sites considered.
Yeah, this hearing was SUPPOSED to take place yesterday evening.
((The proposals, for properties on East Paulding Road and at South Anthony Boulevard and East Paulding, were set for a public hearing before the Fort Wayne Plan Commission on Monday night. However, the hearings were postponed at the developers' request.
Residents opposed to the projects will have to return for another hearing next month.))
And it DOES breed CRIME in Fort Wayne.
So, the DEVELOPER is the one stone-walling this now? Did the city get TIRED to brow-beating the public?
This is starting to seem a LOT like the Bowser "hearing" and how that was handled.
We went through the same crap back in 2009 (see archive post from 7 April that year)
Now, these people will have to come BACK downtown (sometime) next month to try this BS again.
Sure, inconvenience the PEOPLE, JUST like you allowed crime to flourish and businesses to leave our part of town...for what? More gas stations? We have more per sq. mile than any TWO other quadrants in the damn city (fact).
*** Next, and speaking of gas...prices at the pumps are RISING...did you notice?
We're back up to around $2.40 per gallon (milk is staying a tad higher per gallon, but the octane rating SUCKS...LOL).
The "reason" we're being bullshitted with (again), is that this is a "seasonal" thing.
Sorry, but all our cars don't know the effing DIFFERENCE between "summer gas" and "winter gas", and we shouldn't even have such nonsense.
But, someone tries to "splain" it to us:
http://newsroom.aaa.com/2013/06/what-is-the-difference-between-summer-and-winter-blend-gasoline/
This is getting dumber than a bag of rocks - if it's not "seasonal" fuels, it "refinery maintenance", or "the boss took a shit", or "a worker quit this week"...anything to bump UP the prices.
Now, we can blame SYRIA...WTH do they have to do with OUR (direct) fuel sources anyway?
Like I said...NONSENSE!
*** Next, let's stop by and see what's going on at "Kitten Corner"...
The kids were a lot better behaved, and we managed some play time together...when they weren't napping...or eating.
Okay, so WHICH one of us tugs FIRST?
It's a pleasure to have them around...yes, even when they misbehave, because such things can be taken care of, allowing life to move forward without muss nor fuss.
I wonder WHAT those cats are up to in there?
Now, others are taking notice. Nothing wrong with that at all.
*** Last back to the patio chairs...there come those times when (to maintain your sanity) you just have to shut off as much of the "outside world" as possible.
Thankfully, BBC America has taken care of that for the next several days for we Whovians - a Doctor Who "takeover" from today until Saturday at 9 PM when the new season begins.
It's not a big deal to those not familiar with or even like The Doctor, but, it does provide people like me a place to spend some time, because we know that "Time is the school in which we all learn, Time is the fire in which we all burn".
Would we be so fortunate to find more people believing that message and actually adhering to it.
So, if anyone wants me, they know where to find me...until Sunday, anyway.
Let's continue to hope that time is as charitable to all of us, and that we don't waste a moment of it.
For what we lose, we will never get back.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

It's about time Indiana got Yuengling Lager. My fridge is full too. You know what? They need to stop discriminating against all good beers. LMAO. Have a great day, Bob! Good post. Stay safe up north.

Momma Fargo:
---Yeah, I mean it IS the OLDEST brewery in the whole freaking USA!
I remember this from back in Philly (Dad liked Schmidts...shame they folded after he passed...maybe there was a "connection" there?)
---Indiana really DOES need to stop with all this "profiling" when it comes to, GOOD brew.

Thank you for rolling up today and commenting.

Stay safe down there, dear.

Lately we've had a lot of loud engines- motorcyclists trying to prove they don't know how to shift gears, wannabes that think a hole in the exhaust makes them bad, and some legit musclecars who think they have to "verbally" show the other two how retarded they are. Saturday, I thought the guy at the north end of the river was having drags in his long drive... nothing I can't put up with with a sigh- or if outside, a twirl of the "whoop-de-doo" finger.

OHH cheese fondue! Ain't had that in a while...

We used to have Guess Who's greatest vol. II, Rhinestone Cowboy, and the Box Tops on 8-track up at the lake... Chicago VII too. Good memories.

Wal Mart had Y by the case at 19 smackos. But, I have a six of Hefe-weitzen still in the fridge.

Easier to run face-recognition on unsmiling pics, I'd wager.

My usual gas station (Coliseum and Sherman BP, aka "the wind-tunnel") just put window between cashier and customer. Sad to see, but good that they're looking out for the employees.

With you on the gas prices- and the State Legislature ain't exactly on the side of the consumer, either.

GREAT squirrel pic! You should meme it up for the "shots fired" with his little hands up!

Doctor premiere: Thanks for reminding me- Deadliest Catch premiere is in less than a half hour!

---We used to have places in Philly where assholes could drive around loudly...it was called a DRAG STRIP...lol.
(even had an illegal one down in S. Philadelphia. Saw one guy roll his (dad's) Fairlane. Just hadda leave before the cops came by and chased the onlookers.
---So...you DO "fondue"...,heh.
---Had my share of 8-tracks in the old Buick...just
HATED when a song was "cut" in mid sentence...
"American...(pause to allow tape to change track)...WOMAN...stay away from me-eee"
Yeah, that was fun.
---$19 is a good price (under a buck a bottle - the way it SHOULD be for domestics (that taste good). They can GIVE away BUD, and I won't touch that cat piss.
---I dunno...the tech HAS evolved so damn much. The workers just want YOU to hate to be there too, I suppose.
---I figured we had a "problem" (years ago) when all the stations down here went with PAY FIRST signs. Then, many stations put up bullet-resistant glass between the counter and the store (proper).
Now, some don't even stay open 24/7. And yes, it's SPREADING to OTHER parts of the city (must be the CRIME?).
---Nah...the state gets to "lock in" prices BEFORE they take a bump up...same for the city.
---Glad you liked the pic...been working on training him like "Mr. Wrinkles". Love that MEME idea...maybe by next week.
---You better not FORGET this Saturday (and any eps in between).
Remember, if you MISS it, you can't go back in time for a "do--over" I know...it sucks.

Hey, thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Stay safe (and sound) up there, brother.
