Tuesday Tidbits...
I imagine we're all settled back into the week such as it is progressing.
Was nice out yesterday...until around 3 PM in our area (until that time, we don't have AS many boom cars (just dump trucks hauling dirt from one street over as they tear the hell out of the block to replace water mains (why, I have NO idea). After 3, it gets SO ghetto down here, and very predictable.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us sunny skies, temps reaching to around 70 degrees, and no rain in the forecast (that comes later in the week),
Now, let's get that morning drink and get ready for another day "doing time" on planet Earth, shall we?
*** First out of the ammo box is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
APRIL 18 -
---It's National Animal Crackers Day
(stop biting the heads off first)
---It's National Columnists Day
(and no fake news...got it?)
---It's National Lineman Appreciation Day
(braving a shocking experience to give us power)
*** Next up and since it is a Tuesday, let's see all those FWPD calls that we never heard about because the lame-stream media was too busy covering anti-Trump rallies out in Berkeley (in the land of fruits and nuts)...

*** Next up, nothing new on that Cleveland murder of the elderly man, but there is a NATIONAL search for his ass (and his white Ford Fusion). Here's some back syory to this person:
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/04/18/accused-facebook-killer-steve-stephens-faced-multiple-evictions-financial-trouble.html
Amazing that no matter how much money people like this OWE, they always have enough to get a gun (and ammo). Maybe a change in priorities was warranted?
Funny thing about the car, that older sex offender cribbing next door to us DRIVES one,(and he's black), but he looks nothing like the perp from Cleveland, so I guess we're safe.
((Update - 1300 hrs - here's the latest:
http://www.cleveland19.com/story/35177037/body-found-in-ford-fusion-in-erie-believed-to-be-steve-stephens
Well, I called the SUICIDE part right...but, no "selfie"? Thank heaven this is over, except for the mourning by the victim's family.))
***  I did find an amusing story about the "naming rights" being bought for the Riverfront deal. Here's the lowdown:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/20170418/500000-to-name-amphitheater
Seems that people are all but falling over themselves handing out (donating) cash to be able to name a piece of this (newest) white elephant.
All the while, we can't even GIVE away land down here for development...talk about polarization.
Goes to show that where is found little crime, there is ALWAYS lots of moolah...and vice-versa.
*** Next up, and I want to followup on yesterday's Doctor Who spot in the post.
While looking for information, I came across this gem of a story:
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/2753635/did-bbc-force-out-peter-capaldi-as-doctor-who-ratings-slump-from-complex-plots-unpopular-baddies-and-8pm-x-factor-slot-being-too-late-for-kids/
I need to think on this a bit...
Now, I'm not one to jump to any conclusions (as I did as a youth...when it was expected...lol), but there is a LOT to what the writers of this article have to say.
And yes, having the WRONG time slot can be a death-knell to a television show.
We do it here all the time.
Plus, I'm in agreement with over 90% of what they wrote (the other 10% isn't that important, and has to do with my personal feelings).
It's the source article I mentioned yesterday with the ratings deal.
Not to mention that there is a strong indication as to WHO the new doctor might well be, and that story is here:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/0/kris-marshall-doctor-fans-react-rumoured-casting/
(imho, they could do better)
Then, you come across this and wonder even more:
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/3339851/new-doctor-who-revealed-as-kris-marshall-takes-over-from-peter-capaldi-and-has-already-joined-the-cast/
Yeah, it's enough to make even MY head swim a bit...
Like I said, when you place the stories in context and take time to cogitate on it, you can see a pattern developing.
I'm on the fence when it comes to the BBC...they do SOME things very well, while other things...well, let's leave it at "not so much"...
I want to think they would cater to the fans, and do the RIGHT thing, but they have been known to swallow a foot now and then (sometimes up to their kneecaps).
Time will tell...as the Doctor knows...it ALWAYS does, right?
*** Next up, let's make a little jaunt over to "Kitten Corner"...
The cats were really good yesterday, and I got an extra bit of attention, as they take turns coming in the living room to do the "face-rub" thing.
Gallifrey likes to come to YOU, while Violet prefers the "shelf" where she can be at eye-level with you. To each their own.
And sometimes, they even take to grooming one another (gotta look nice for the parents...lol).
After that's done...time to rest a bit...as usual.
*** Last back to the shooting range...life is nothing more than moments in a particular order.
Think of it (as the Doctor would say)...all these "stills" arranged in a linear fashion, which is representative of what we all call OUR LIFE. Sounds rather simple.
But, when we stop and consider all the choices we have made to that point, we can see where we took a misstep, or where we were at our best, can't we?
And then, there are those regrets...those "pictures" in our life that we wish we could do a "touch-up" on.
Since time for us never halts in it's motion, we're bound to a specific line of events...some of which have yet to take place.
We can't plan for those, but we can rest assured that they will come, sooner or later.
In many ways, it becomes a study in that age-old saying: "If I knew THEN what I know NOW..." we might have better lives...maybe.
All we can do for the moment, is to take things as they come, have faith and hope for the best in any situation, but be prepared to handle those things that might take from that plan.
And, like any good photographer...it's always best to keep your fingers off the lens...and FOCUS!
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Most of the Doctor thing I said my piece on yesterday... today, I'll just add that the excuses herein given for the ratings slump are complete BS (that is, that Capaldi and Moffett are the cause). BBC just covering their own willful incompetence IMHO. How's the Jimmy Saville thing coming?

Hey, how about the Chris Martin port-a-pot row? Wonder how much green w=that would cost me?

Chris:
---I think Capaldi did a masterful job during his run, and I have to give credit to Moffat as far as a writer goes.
I do feel that perhaps as a showrunner, it might have gotten a bit away from him, but I can't even cite that as a REAL reason.
Back in the old days, much the same happened to John Nathan-Turner, and he was showrunner for a much longer stint.
Wrong time slots and airing against (other) known high-rated shows at later times can (and will) do in a show very well.

LOL...love YOUR name for the deal along the river...and how much green might depend on what you ate beforehand...HA!

Thanks for stopping by to comment.

Stay safe up there, brother,.
