Welcome to more of those wonderfully hazy, hot, and humid days of summer.
If you prefer being uncomfortable, then by all means, stay outside today...lol.
(or, you can always move down to the SE side of town...apparently, that makes a LOT of folks uncomfortable, and they're just passing through, or sit behind nice big wooden desks at City Hall).
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly to mostly sunny skies, temps reaching up to around 88 degrees, and almost enough humidity that you can wring out the air...yep, that's summer all right.

So, in lieu of those conditions, what say we all get a nice refreshing drink to keep our personal hydration meter out of the "red", as we see what else has been going on, hmm?

Why this appeared in today's J-G when it was originally published here back on 3 July beats me.
Indiana ranks 19th worst summer spot. Mississippi ranks 1st (worst) and Washington state ranks 50th (best).
At least PA is better by a little (21st), and WY is way better (32nd), but MICHIGAN is ranked 44th? They MUST be referring to the upper penninsula area and NOT anywhere near a major city like Detroit, or Lansing...heh. NJ is 45th? Somone's gotta be on some drugs there. Aside from the shore, it's hot and muggy most summers, believe me.

To be honest, ANY form of stress can be toxic to some degree. It all depends on the situation.
The research mentioned in the story doesn't have to apply JUST to kids, either, But it's those formative years that bear the brunt of such stress greater than adults. Guess this means we'll have children growing up with a form of PTSD without ever having been in combat, unless you want to consider a toxic HOME environment a battleground, especially in the inner cities, right?

It's a CHILDREN'S SHOW (primarily), snowflake.
This is my main contention with how the show has "deviated" since it's reboot...complex plotting that few children could actually follow (hell, I had trouble, and I've followed the Doctor since the mid-70s!), so why all this PC stuff? I would think that the realm of "childhood": would be more "off-limits" when it comes to such things. Apparently no longer.

The kids were not THAT bad yesterday...just being themselves, which means brief bouts of manic behavior squeezed between the eating, napping, rubbing, and grooming (not really in that order, mind you).

Whiskers is part of our "landscape" now, it would seem, as is Midnight.
They both spent most of the day sleeping IN our garden, They tend to hang close by one another.

The farthest Midnight ventures is outside the fence gate now. Haven't seen him in the alley (thank God). Whiskers just stays close by.
This turn of events has changed up the feeding thing...gonna have to buy more dry food for this duo.

Seriously, when have we all been so assaulted by all these groups claiming "rights" in the past?
Aside from the Civil Rights movement, which to me was perfectly justified and too long in coming (thanks to democrats not wanting it in the 50s), we've never had all this stuff thrust in our faces (so blatantly) on a daily basis...and to what end?

If everyone gets everything they want, and all the damn time...THEN what happens?
Where do we go as a society when no one has want of anything? How much more equal can one group become over all the others?
I think the old complacency factor will kick in...it usually does. That won't be a good thing.
And to take God out of this equation is simply stupid beyond reason, for there are true and natural rights that COME from God. Others are set down in our founding documents. But the groups today that we see protesting all the time, seem to have no need for either God or law...so what happens then?
How can you demand rights when you deny the source of those rights?
Quite the conundrum, and one which these people will never choose to understand...because it requires THOUGHT.

The cost today is our American culture.

There can never be wisdom without knowledge. And knowledge comes from learning..being taught right from wrong.
Understanding differences between rights from privileges comes from those things.
But, like anything worthwhile in life...ALL these require work...that each of us has to put forth.
