Tuesday Tidbits...
If you enjoyed yesterday's weather conditions, then you will just LOVE today.
But, it's not like we should be calling out the "climate change" brigade.
Back in the very early 70s, we had a Christmas season (in Philly) where temperatures were tickling 70 degrees.
So, what goes around, comes around, hmm?
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us nicely mild conditions with some breezes blowing through, mostly sunny skies, and temps reaching to around 64 degrees (nope, no rain today, but a chance late tonight). Don't go breaking back out those shorts and tank tops, though.
To peace...
Now, let's all get the show on the road by getting ourselves a nice refreshing beverage to shake off the sleep and get us going...okay?
*** First off of the dining room table is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
NOVEMBER 28 -
---It's National Day of Giving
(another day that SHOULD be taking place every other day as well)
---It's National French Toast Day
(well, I know what I'm having for breakfast)
*** Next, and since it IS a Tuesday, let's break out the police blotter and see ALL the FWPD calls that we never heard anything about, because the media was chasing down all those men causing sexual harassment (like women NEVER do anything like that?)...

*** NO armed robberies ALL WEEK?
What about the one at the Meijer station that ALSO resulted in a shooting/homicide???
The FWPD didn't feel the need to POST that??? All the blotter shows is:
17F142888 20:09:39 40H HOLDUP ALRM 63XX LIMA RD
Wonder how the victim's family feels about that?
=========================
Also,  120+ traffic accidents (property and personal injury and including "hit-skips"), 130+ domestic calls (including battery and w/ a weapon), loads of robberies and burglaries, NO stabbings (again), 3 rapes, 5 indecent exposure, 1 pursuit, and 13 narcotics calls.
=========================
FIREWORKS CALLS - NOV 20 - NOV 26
17F141707 11/20/2017 05:08pm 44FW 7800 ABOITE CENTER RD & DICKE RD
17F143723 11/25/2017 10:01pm 44FW 2700 OAK BOROUGH RUN & COVINGTON RD
=====================================
Nice to know we STILL have some dipshits out there.
There we are then...safe and sound for another week...right?
*** Next up, Foster Park is undergoing some "work", and here's the photo from the site:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20171128/ARTICLE/311289951
It was more serene when we were there.
Well, that's sure to make the whole place a lot nicer and quieter...(not).
*** Next, a little more information on the perp who shot and killed a Meijer gas station worker:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/police-fire/20171128/murder-suspect-idd-by-mother
Heh...MOM went and ID'ed him. That tells you a lot about "what a good boy" he was (not).
Also  a sawed-off shotgun? ILLEGAL (and where the hell did he get it, anyway?)
ALL this crap JUST for a damn carton of Newports...the end certainly did not justify the means.
As for the deceased (victim)...
A GoFundMe campaign, found online at https://www.gofundme.com/wmnnt-funeral-expenses-for-jacob-walerko, was established to pay for funeral expenses. As of 4 p.m. Monday, the campaign had raised just over half its $10,000 goal. It was also said that any money OVER the goal limit was to be donated to an animal shelter.
Rivera denied responsibility for the robbery and the shooting when confronted by police Friday. Be nice to recover the weapon used.
*** Next up, and along the lines of the last item, we have this OP-ED story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/opinion/editorials/20171128/seeking-meaning
Interesting to note we are now at 35 homicides for the year (so far).
Heidi A. Colley, 61, was found beaten to death in her New Haven home Saturday; her 42-year-old son, Chad A. Ingram, has been charged with two counts of domestic battery.
What about charging him with MURDER...or at least manslaughter? Come the hell on, now!
Beating one's mom to death...WTH is wrong with this world these days?
((Homicides, robberies and the overall crime rate are down in 2017, according to FBI statistics. Though robberies are relatively commonplace – there have been 8,059 so far this year – holdup-related killings are rare in Fort Wayne. To victims and their families and friends, of course, violent crime is always devastating and unacceptable. ))
So, robberies are "commonplace"? There are 8.059 chances that SOMETHING could go drastically wrong during a robbery (as was evidenced on Lima Rd Thanksgiving night), so let's not dismiss it as minimalistic in any way.
*** Next, time to stop by "Kitten Corner"...
Next stop - your lap.
The kids were doing very well yesterday, and Gallifrey was actually laying in my lap for part of the evening.
I'll just be adorable...as usual.
Usually, he's roaming all over and never stays still that long. Violet is content to shy away from the camera and wants to be petted on HER terms...not ours...lol.
But, when he's in your lap, he's way too close to get a pisture...I just can't win some days...
*** Next up, let's check in with "Midnight and Company"...
The furry duo were once again at the patio door, and Whiskers always gets on the screen to let you know she's hungry. Midnight is stoic as ever, patiently waiting, unless he's really hungry, then he also come right up to the door.
They stuck by most of the say, too. She was watching our one tree for a cardinal who was coming and going.
Midnight just looks for sunny spots to warm himself (shouldn't be a problem today).
*** Last back to the china cabinet...got some decent TV on of late.
This week is one of those "crossover" shows that is 4 episodes long. It began last night with Supergirl, followed by Arrow.
Tonight is The Flash, followed by Legends of Tomorrow.
it's titled Crisis on Earth-X, and features everyone who is anyone from these four shows.
And I'm a sucker for a good superhero slugfest.
---Next is an ongoing series on AMC titled Bob Kirkman's The Secret History of Comics, and airs every Monday night at 10PM. It's a pretty good series, with one exception.
Last night's ep was about NYC and how it figures into the world of comic books (and we know what Metropolis and Gotham City REALLY portrays, right?). Considering that most ALL the originators of the real comic book world started out in New York City, it's only fitting to feature the city itself.
What bothered me was that they had Van Jones voicing his views, and I'm NOT a fan of Jones (for the obvious reasons). Granted, he's listed as a "comic fan", but I wonder how MUCH of a (real) fan.
Naturally, politics figures into this, especially in wake of 9/11, and the show takes that as a jumping off point.
The show brings up the whole Marvel Civil War issue, painting Iron Man as being representative of the republicans, while Captain America is shown as being on the side of the democrats...that's nonsense (imho).
Cap wants people to be FREE...not "regulated". Iron Man (Tony Stark) sees regulation of superheroes a necessity, which is odd, considering his comment in IM2  - (to Pepper) "I'm tired of the liberal agenda...it's boring". To me, that says Cap and Tony SHOULD be on the SAME side...wanting less regulation and more freedom.
Cap makes his case in The Winter Soldier (to Nick Fury) - "...Holding a gun to everyone's head and calling it security. That's not freedom...that's fear." I always viewed Cap's stance as being LESS political, and MORE human (and humane, as postulated in our founding documents). Tony is all about tech, and in many cases, such things REQUIRE a level of regulation...look at the situation with just the Internet (bullying, spam, identity theft, etc).
Freedom can take many faces, but in certain specific cases, it can be abused to the point where it takes away from any advancement we might enjoy thanks to that freedom.
Perhaps the less we involve politics into EVERY facet of our lives (as it appears we are headed)...the better off we ALL shall become, Let's not take the world as it is when we can work to make it a better world.
Now to me, I think that's a plan we can deal with...just don't settle for the easy way out in the meantime.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

I like Whiskers' style. Feed her. She is starving and that is why she clings to the screen door in desperation. Poor thing. LOL. Nice weather we are having, yes? Love it! I also like your Rocky touch to the shots fired with a meme from Rambo. Fitting.

---LOL. I can assure you that NEITHER one of our community cats is starving (and we have the grocery bill for cat food to prove it).
---This is really GREAT weather, but I think it's gonna confuse the hell outta the plants!
---Don't recall where I found that meme, but it was one of those "HAVE to have it" moments.

Hey, thanks much for rolling up today and commenting.

Stay safe (and love the weather) down there, dear.

I got the feeling that it was a national day of giving- every ministry I ever gave to was lined up on my e-mail. Steady boys, I'm not JD Rockefeller and I will serve you in turn on Sunday as I always do. Back, BACK!!!

"Repton"? Is that a Sontaran colony or something. lol?

And am I alone in wondering how long before the entire city sinks into Subterranea during the great tunnel dig?

Can we lock Victor and his sawed-off in a cell with Chad and his blunt weapon and... well, just walk away for a week or so? Maybe leave the stereo on playing Michael Bolton?

We used to have a dog, back in the really old days, me and Dad... his name was George, and to say he loved the camera was no exaggeration. I honestly had to put an object ( a space heater, as I recall) in between us just to get enough space to take a pic with the old Kodak...

Cap a DEMOCRAT? Someone's been hitting it a bit hard... for one, Cap believes in God. That's yer first clue, geniuses... Good analysis on your part, Robert. And yours, Groucho.

BTW a quickie for ya. My plant mgr had to get bone spur surgery on one heel prior to Thanksgiving week. Last week it was all crutches, but now he's using a cart (think tricycle complete with basket but no pedals, and sadly no horn.) Today I officially 'chris'tened him "Wheelio."

---I know...ALL the hands come out and at the same time...like they think we have that money tree out back (like the city does)...
You have to pick and choose during the holidays.
---Some of these names HAVE to be new developments.
(Sontaran? Could be Silurian.)
---The way we're going, we'll be UNDER sea level in no time!
(we're not that far away as it IS)
---Now THAT is a fantastic idea...we DO think a lot alike (scary, huh? But in a GOOD way)
---Some pets LOVE the camera...others...not as much. Just the "luck of the draw"...and sometime age helps.
---I figured you come to a similar conclusion...and I had not thought about the "God" aspect...a very good call, there.
---Bone spur surgery...never fun to go under the knife.
ROFL... (trying to visualize that "cart"...funky).
Also, love that nickname...brilliant!

Thanks for stopping by with your rapier wit and intellect in commenting today. Enjoyed the smiles.

Stay safe (and wise beyond your years) up there, brother.
