Tuesday Tidbits...
Well yesterday was a bit on the dreary side, wasn't it? And yet, the temps were not all that bad.
It was a good day to not be out fighting holiday traffic (and the shoppers).
It was also a good day to get some decorations up.
Our Hoosierland weather today brings us partly cloudy skies, with temps reaching to around 51 degrees (perfect pneumonia weather, if you ask me). Dress accordingly and take a jacket anyway...no shorts, kapeesh?
Now, let's chase the morning chill away with a nice hot cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa, as we see what else has been going on...
*** First off of the sofa is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
DECEMBER 19 -
---It's National Hard Candy Day
(sure to make the dentists happy)
---It's National Oatmeal Muffin Day
(sure...why not?)
*** Next, and because it is Tuesday, let's look at all the FWPD calls that we should ahve heard about, but didn't because the media likes to keep us in the dark and feed us crap (what are we...mushrooms?)

FIREWORKS CALLS - DEC 11 - DEC 17
NONE (again)!!! AMAZING!!
*** Next up, there are those who SO want HIGH-SPEED RAIL to come to Ft. Wayne.
Here's one reason WHY this might not be a good idea:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/us/20171219/amtrak-derails-at-least-3-dead
That's one BIG oops there.
Yes, on it's MAIDEN trip, an AMTRAK high speed train derailed in Washington state, killing several and injuring over a hundred more.
That's the SAME Amtrak that has not turned a profitable year since it's inception WAY back in 1971.(look it up)
And would most likely be the same Amtrak that would have high-speed rail running through Fort Wayne.
Wonder if Geoff Paddock has ANY second thoughts NOW?
*** Next, I just had to see Addison Agen in The Voice finale last night, and I heard here original song Tennessee Rain...impressive.
Most impressive.
She can certainly sell a song.
No denying that the girl can sing beautifully, and that she can write a damn fine song as well.
So, yes...I voted for her (why not?).
It's refreshing to see a teenager who has a grasp on where she wants to go in life.
If only it would rub off on a lot of others.
*** Next up, TODAY marks the DOCTOR WHO TAKEOVER on BBC America channel.
This is the week-long lead up to the Christmas special (airing 9 P.M. on Christmas night).
Starting today at 7 A.M., it's nothing but DW...all the favorite episodes, the regenerations, and villains, and the companions. What a nice way to ring the holiday in, isn't it?
*** Next, if you ever thought that politics didn't inflict itself into every aspect of our lives, think on this:
http://www.journalgazette.net/entertainment/movies/20171219/last-jedi-a-smash-hit-but-do-fans-really-like-it
Yes, there is politics in Star Wars.
Who knew?
Funny that The Force Awakens had a better opening weekend than The Last Jedi, too.
Maybe fans are "catching on" to having their fantasy co-opted by "the dark side" (aka politics)?
Sure, the movies make money, but the followers of such films seem to know more than those making the films.
Lucas originally painted the first trilogy as a Nixon-era Vietnam war parable.
I didn't see it that way. It was just good escapist fun at the time.
With new people at the helm of the series, it may be time to look under the surface and see if there is or is not subliminal messages hidden.
I don't know about this. It could be another tinfoil hat thing...
But what if it isn't?
We must use the Force if we are to find out the truth.
*** Next up, time to stop by "Kitten Corner"...
Violet did get into the tub.
Our kids didn't get into THAT much yesterday, as I went about the house putting up decorations.
And THAT was greatly appreciated my yours truly.
Gallifrey just sprawled out on top of the couch
They spent a lot of the day napping, and chasing one another, and eating, and napping some more.
Must be a really rough life...LOL.
*** Next, let's check in with "Midnight and Company"...
The furry duo was waiting for their food as usual, and I was later than normal because the damn sky refused to get light enough to go outside without stepping on either cat.
Still, all went well enough.
I found out that Midnight likes to hang out at the front of our house, as he was there when I went to get the mail.
Whiskers prefers the (small) shelter, and I wish he would follow her lead...the shelter is there FOR HIM.
Why are you upside down, funny man?
This getting dark early is a bugger, too. Last call is damn near twilight.
I'm just happy they keep staying around.
*** Last back to the comfy chair...still playing catch up with Christmas.
These are already "vintage"?
I did get the candles in the windows (all 14 of them) and they ALL worked the first time.
I think we can call that a small miracle.
Wifey and I are still thinking about what else to put up (obviously the tree). We're probably going with the nativity and some Christmas beanie babies. As to the bears? I haven't yet decided, as we now have TWENTY of them and not enough places to put them all. Maybe the odd number ones? Then the even numbered next year?
Then, there are the Christmas CARDS to et out in the mail...and my package to my dear friend in Delaware.
(they should bot be done by tomorrow at the latest).
Napped too long - became another ornament.
It just that the holiday appears to come around SO damn fast, and yet, it over in the blink of an eye. Like I said before...when we were kids, it seemed like Christmas  was taking FOREVER to arrive. What happened to that, anyway?
Another one of life's mysteries...
We'll save that for a later date.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

I guess I'll have to get a listen at Tennessee Rain later on. And I saw about the DWT on twitter last night. So I might end up watching some.

Star Wars: And THAT'S why I stopped watching movies.

Christmas: I guess we are having ours Friday when I get off work. Otherwise the various kids' dads will be taking them. Such is life.

Chris:
---That girl has some serious singing ability!
---I figured you might already know about the DWT, but I thought I'd put it out there anyway.
---You can't seem to go see a movie for it's ENTERTAINMENT value (alone)...
And yet, here we are - a society DRIVEN by (what else?) ENTERTAINMENT.
A curious conundrum, is it not?
---AT the rate I'm going, I'll be coming down to the wire...lol.
Still have cards to get out and a tree to put up.
(and a few other things...sheesh)
Wish my get up and go hadn't gotten up and left...LMAO!

Thanks for stopping by today to comment.

Stay safe (and "Christmasey") up there, brother.
