Is there an "off" switch?

Another gloomy day of clouds and rain await us, so I wouldn't blame any of you if you just pulled the bedcovers back over your heads, rolled over, and went back to sleep.
Yesterday was certainly not fun by any means, unless you prefer all that wet out there.
And yes, we're not out of the woods yet...more rain tomorrow (when it's supposed to end). This is February?
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us the obligatory cloudy skies, but temps will reach up to around 67 degrees (don't worry, it will cool back down later this week).

And I really mean it.

Not much to say about that, so let's instead take some time to get a nice cup, glass or mug of whatever your favorite drink is, as we see what's been going on elsewhere...

This took place yesterday around 1340 hrs at the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel up on W. Coliseum Blvd.
A man was found by a person who was taking trash out. The victim had a bullet wound to the head and shell casings were found nearby the SUV he had been sitting inside of..

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
((The victim has been ID'ed as 37 year old Samuel Douglas Westlake of Fort Wayne.))

The word "lie" means more than one thing.

Yeah, these kids staged a "LIE-IN" to protest gun violence.
I will say it's a DAMN good thing some jihadist camel jockey didn't take the opportunity to grab a rental truck and run their bodies over. Then, we'd have to have another such protest for that "assault-truck" in order to ban THOSE...right?
This is just what we need right now...kids "running the show" in America...it's akin to that movie I often mention entitled "Wild in the Streets" (1968)...all we need (now) are lower voting ages, free drugs, and those special internment camps for anyone over 30. Here's a related story:

Yeah, another absence from school, where these brains should be LEARNING, so they can better prepare themselves for life.
If you want to collapse our society, this could be a very good way to go about it.

*** Next up, Wifey returned from another visit to Vincennes, but not without incident.

Seems she picked up a little hitchhiker in one of her (still pretty new) tires, which caused a deflation.

Small, but effective

She had to stop in Franklin at a tire place to get it fixed.
All I can say is that if you take enough trips to southern Indiana (roll the dice), you run a greater risk of something happening (roll snake-eyes and crap out).
I'm just glad it wasn't a blow out...that could wind up much worse.
Still, you shouldn't go racking up all that mileage when you're not being reimbursed by your employer for that mileage (wear and tear).

The kids were glad to see "mommy" come home yesterday, even if they didn't readily show it.
Wifey did get a few leg rubs, and it took our kids a bit before they got back to hanging around her again.

That means I didn't have them following me around. I think I miss that...lol.

Our own furry twosome stuck close by the house most all day, which was good considering the rain we got.

That meant eating UNDER the patio table for the first two meals.
Dinner was able to be served in a more normal manner.

He was up on the table and she was below near the water dish.
Still don't know why I never see him using one of the shelters. I wish he would.
*** Last back to the drainage ditch...gun control is ALWAYS about CONTROL, rather than guns.

Let's be perfectly clear about that, so the leftards can be called out on that one.
If I were a parent of one of the students who happened to be killed by this latest shooter, I'd be fighting for more and better strides to be made in MENTAL HEALTH, rather than guns.
Guns are only the means to an end, albeit a violent end, but let's get real here...Cain slew (his brother of all people) Abel with a stinking ROCK, for heaven's sake. And not one peep about that method used, was there?
The lunatics, the mentally-deranged, the chronically violent and criminally intent among us will ALWAYS find a way to achieve their "objective", which is to kill, hurt, or maim. That means practically anything ELSE other than firearms.
The litany of items that could be used to commit murder is not as finite as one might imagine.

But, when the media gets on board with untruth and promotes such falsehoods every second of every day, they will manage to sway the unlearned among us more easily than we can believe.
Hell, that bastard Hitler and his minions knew as much and pushed their propaganda along those lines.
We all need to step back, take a breath and use the time to educate ourselves better, and educate others as to the REAL reasons behind such mass shootings, as well as other types of criminal activity. And we have to start a REAL punishment mandate for those so convicted of the crimes...the way we USED to do.
If some people cannot be rehabilitated, then we should  exclude them from society.

And if we can't see all the red flags that rise when such people provide questionable behavior patterns, we should do what is required to protect everyone else from them.
Life was better when I was growing up...it was a society where we could play with toy guns and not become murderers as we grew up. It was a time when we had fewer gun restrictions and less violence from the wrong people who got guns. It was a time that the leftists used to deride people like US about, but now are wishing we had what WE once preached about those times...
What goes around always comes back around on the societal carousel...doesn't it?
Someday, people will wake the hell up and see the truth...it just might not be today.
