Humpday Happenings...

It's the middle of the week once again, and you know what THAT means...it's HUMPDAY!
(with all the trappings we've come to enjoy)
I don't know about you, but I;m still awaiting the full-fledged advent of autumn to get here.
It won't be today.
Our Hoosierland weather brings us scattered clouds, breezy conditions, and temps rising into the mid-80s (need to run the A/C once AGAIN).
On the up side...no rain to speak of.

So, let's put our best foot forward today with a nice refreshing drink to wake up the old synapses, as we see what else has been going on...
*** First out of the tea kettle is our WHO SAID THAT? quote for the week:

"Concern yourself more with accepting responsibility than with assigning blame. Let the possibilities inspire you more than the obstacles discourage you." 
I think this is something we can ALL benefit from - namely the proper state of mind.

It's no wonder no one showed up for the meeting regarding water rate increases. Why would they have the meeting clear out at Homestead High School?
I think a lot of the middle-class people in Fort Wayne have given up; nothing we say can overcome what the city elite and the mayor want to do.
Why in the world are we not using the Legacy Fund for the repairs to the water pipes? This is what the money is for; not the frivolous crap they are using it for.

The kids had a fun time chasing each other.

She's got a mean left hook.

Violet actually smacked Gallifrey a couple times, and she even got him into a head-lock.
But, it's all harmless playtime for them, and not long afterwards, they do settle back down.
Oh, to have a couple "cat-cams" to catch ALL the "action".
*** Next, let's do our daily check-on with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry duo were here for breakfast, as usual.

Someone's gotta guard this chimney.

He chose to come late for lunch, but she pecked at her food.
Dinner was a different story. They both ate all their food, and were also there for last-call treats.

And I guard the garden...

Later on, I got to feed her on the back step, and he was nowhere to be found (he missed out on that).
*** Last back to the English muffin factory...yesterday, I talked about what possesses people to do the things they do.

And, it was easy enough to find an answer. All I had to do was look across the street.
There I saw what was SUPPOSED to be a garage door...with one "small" difference

Some people should NOT try to fix things.

It was INSIDE OUT. Seriously, look at it.
The hinge hardware is facing to the street, which tells me that this door is wonderfully NON-FUNCTIONAL.

Well, it DOES look better than THIS.

The door is supposed to roll up INTO the garage, hence the name  "roll-up door". THIS door does not fit the criteria.
(NCE needs to get wind of this one)
This is what passes for "normal" these days.

Sadly, such things follow us to our capital in D.C.
Look at the circus sideshow that's been created (by the left).
I can only imagine the LACK of concern should a Supreme Court nominee be say...a LIBERAL.
(Bill Clinton comes to mind for some reason)

And here we are once again...at the circus.

I think after weeks (more like months) of interrogation, reams of questions on paper and uncounted days of assorted questioning, we'd know more about someone than THEY know about themselves, and is this fair?
Certainly NOT to the person being raked over the coals. This is Clarence Thomas deja vu...all over again. (only worse)

Beware the term "SOCIAL JUSTICE"...

This nation, if it wants to survive in the manner and spirit in which it was founded, REALLY needs to start getting it's head out of it's ass.

Just plain NO.

There comes a time when allegations should NOT be used as an ad hoc "conviction" before the facts are known, and we surely have to follow the "innocent UNTIL PROVEN guilty" aspect of our judicial system...not the other way around.
If this means having to back up in order to truly move forward, then so be it.
We need to stand upon the principles and values that we once held dear, and not waiver in our resolve to maintain everything our forefathers fought and died for.
