15 October 2018

Monday Musings...
Definitely some fall in the air today, but at least we're not seeing SNOW like what's going on out in Wyoming.
Folks out there just can't wait to start skiing...lol.
We're more fortunate here in the Heartland with only some RAIN to speak of.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us mostly cloudy skies with breezy conditions, the aforementioned rain early on and then tapering off by afternoon, with dropping temps throughout the day, winding up in the upper 40s. And, we could see our first frost tonight.
Now, what say we get some coffee, tea, or hot cocoa to warm the inside, as we see what else has been going on...
*** First off of the log pile is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
OCTOBER 15 -
---It's National I Love Lucy Day
(the days of that kind of comedy seem all but gone)
---It's National Anesthetician Day
(knocking people out without throwing a punch for decades)
---It's National Cheese Curd Day
(they look like mozzarella balls to me)
---It's National Clean Up Your Virtual Desktop Day
(lemme sleep on that one before I decide)
---It's National Grouch Day
(finally, a personal favorite)
---It's National Latino AIDS Awareness Day
(here we go again)
---It's National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day
(for those who never got a chance at life)
---It's National White Cane Safety Day
(feel free to help those in need)
And since the National Day Calendar website is not allowing images to be copied, I have to "take the long way around" as it were, and find the day through searches...thank you for making my online life just a bit MORE difficult.
*** Next, a local drug bust nets three...and some other fun stuff. Here's the story:
https://wpta21.com/news/crime/2018/10/12/three-arrested-in-narcotics-raid-friday-morning/
This took place on Friday  in the 3900 block of Oliver Street around 0747 hrs.
(yep that's down in our very own ghettohood)
Officers found 18.4 grams of crack cocaine, .1 gram of MDMA and 2.0 grams of marijuana were located, along with approximately $800.00 in U.S. Currency.
Quyon Rogers was charged with dealing cocaine and visiting a common nuisance.
Rogers                       Brownlee
Also arrested was Nefatic Brownlee, charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.
She also had two outstanding warrants, so that was a bonus.
I'm surprised that no guns were found.
One other male was arrested and a female there was taken to hospital for medical issues.
If Quyon looks familiar, check my archive post from 18 AUGUST 2017 when it used to live at 1230 Swinney Ave, and was busted for the same crap (and the Oliver house was condemned also).
Guess these two will once again be out of jail soon enough...and looking for another crib to get condemned.
*** Next up, some wonderful propaganda from downtown. Here's the story from Sunday's J-G:
http://www.journalgazette.net/opinion/columns/20181014/next-steps-toward-greatness
Now, John Urbahns is part of this whole Greater Fort Wayne, Inc cabal that seems to be running the city more than our "king"
John is Eric Doden's right hand man, if you will, so you know where this story will be going...
Now we're following DETROIT ? Where is the greatness in THAT lost city these days? Maybe all the urban "farms"? Or is it the huge pockets of MUSLIMS living there? City services still suck there, and blight is not really disappearing.
If anything, the city seems to be "rebranding" such squalor to make it more palatable.
Is that where our city is headed? Well, we already have ONE part of the city that isn't getting better, and two more that are getting worse...you do the math.
*** Next, and speaking of Detroit...this is something I'm sure you'd see in that city.
Imagine a person who chooses NOT to park on a city street or their own driveway, but instead pulls into the back yard and parks UP ON THE PATIO SLAB? The locals around here park any damn place they please...and consistently get away with it.
Yes, they are THAT damn lazy...or stupid...or perhaps BOTH in this case. It's the same house where the garage door was put on BACKWARDS (hinges facing out).
There are days when you just cannot take such moronic behavior, and neither should ANY part of the city. Unfortunately, parking control can't do anything because it's "private property"...next stop...Neighborhood Code Enforcement?
*** Next up, time to drop the stupid like a bad habit and stop by "Kitten Corner"...
This weekend was a real tossup with the kids.
Saturday was a trip down Manic Boulevard, while Sunday was a stroll down Leisure Lane.
I have no idea what was in the air, but the cats got wind of it and got into a runaround frenzy on Saturday.
Yesterday was just the opposite, and I was very grateful for that. Fortunately, nothing was damaged in the four legged melee.
*** Next, let's check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry twosome provided a much calmer frame of reference over the weekend. Both of them were here for every meal and treats yesterday. Actually, both of them were absent for lunch on Saturday, but returned in time for dinner and treats.
I think with cooler weather, they might want to stick a bit closer by the house...there are shelters for the two of them.
*** Last back to the fire pit...it would seem that besides ourselves, the smartest ones in our area have four legs.
When I see people who should know better when it comes to basic behavior in a neighborhood, doing the exact opposite on a daily basis, it pains me to no end.
I've been in low-income housing and slum sections of a couple cities (not fun, but the job demanded it), and I can tell you,  this area around us is JUST like the high-rise apartment tenements. Anymore, when you go outside between 11 AM until midnight, you feel like you're back IN those apartment buildings...the noise is the same, only these people are louder and the housing is farther apart.
All you hear is everyone else's life, and it's NOT something you WANT to hear. These people don't know how to control their own drama, so they don't.
And no one says a word. That's just not right.
Then, there are the 10 gunshots you hear around 10:45 PM on Saturday,  that shake you from whatever calm you manged to grab throughout the day for yourself. In that case, I did see one FWPD vehicle drive up our street.
Normal people should not have to put up with this crap, and the people causing it should know better.
Sorry, but this USED to be a batter world, with a lot more of those better people in it. Can't say the same for today, and that's the real crime being committed here.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Those names were syllablized and drawn from a hat, I'd bet your paycheck on it...

Detroit? Where you stuff infant corpses in bags and hide 'em in the ceiling space? That's where I'D go for ideas...

They are prolly prepping to get the car in the garage through the walk-in door...

Chris:
---And here I thought REAL cheddar only came from across the pond.
---Heh...I think a LOT of us are.
---That's so very sad to hear, but, it must be all part of HIS plan.
---Depends what rave bar you're getting your food...think of it as ECSTASY (which never lives up to it's name there).
---Your guess is as good as mine...I usually defer to PHONICS (as best I can).
---Considering the manner that many people bastardize the English language these days, I'm amazed anyone can figure it out, let along write or speak such names. Must be some ancient tongue translated to mean "STUPID".
---I thought about throwing in that story (as an adjunct), but the infant loss deal made me beg off, and YES...that's EXACTLY where OUR city goes for ideas...amazing stuff, huh?
(worse than desperation in my book).

Thanks for stopping on by and commenting.

Stay safe (and well-read) up there, brother.
