Thoughts For Thursday...
Another day of cool temps and the fall foliage I'm viewing down where we live is nothing short of the color "rust". Not seeing any of the brilliant hues typical of this time of year. Too bad. I was hoping we'd get something to view other than the flotsam meandering about our streets Anything for a diversion from the typical in the SE part of FTW...that's my hope.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly cloudy skies, temps reaching to about 52 degrees, and light breezes.
All in all, not that bad, but rain is coming by week's end, so be aware of that.
Now, lets's get a nice comforting drink to get things going, as we see what else has been taking place in this goofed up world of ours...
*** First off of the table top is the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote:
"Social justice is a cancer. Social justice means you are ruled by whatever the mob does. What social justice does is destroy individual responsibility."
This was spoken by another "newbie" here, one Rafael Bienvenido Cruz y Díaz (born March 22, 1939) who is a Cuban-American Protestant preacher, and public speaker.
Oh, and if that last name sounds just a wee bit familiar, it should...he's  the father of Texas U.S. Senator and 2016 presidential candidate Ted Cruz. And here is the WIKI:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_Cruz
This is a pretty good read, and it's interesting how he opposed the Batista regime (suffering beatings), and after joining the Cuban revolt (as a teen), opposed the Castro government, and wound up "taking the long way" to get to the USA, learning English by watching movies (here), and graduating from the University of Texas w/ a degree in math and chemical engineering, while working his way through college as a 50 cents an hour dishwasher.
His conversion from Catholicism to Christianity demonstrates the power of Christ in action and there's nothing wrong with another evangelical preacher in this country. I so love the one quote mentioned: "It's time we stop being politically correct and start being biblically correct."
How very, very true.
*** Next, time for the "What in the name of sanity is going on today, Bob?" feature:
OCTOBER 25 -
---It's Chucky the Notorious Killer Doll Day
(yes, sometimes all I can say is..."really?")
---It's National Greasy Food Day
(love it, slides down and out much easier...heh)
---It's Sourest Day
(where's the Sweet-Tarts?)
*** Next,  a woman is attacked in her house - and later dies. Here's the story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20181024/WEB/181029936
This took place in the 2800 block of Stanford Ave around 0100 hrs Wednesday morning.
Sounds like another one of THOSE "domestics".
We're seeing more crime in the NW quadrant...wonder why?
Jason Alan Steiss: LOSER!
The man found at the house has been arrested...let's hope the charge is bumped up to murder (more likely it'll be involuntary manslaughter).
This could well wind up as homicide #38...and counting.
*** Next up, these mail bomb (?) scares are increasing.
https://therightscoop.com/breaking-bomb-packages-sent-to-both-hillary-clinton-and-obama/
Given the situation that the left finds itself (in upcoming elections and the overall access to the power it craves), do not be surprised if the person  (or persons) behind this are FROM the left...in order to garner sympathy and act as a distraction.
It could also be some radical far right extremist. No one knows, so stop blaming Trump.
Whatever the case may be, the left has been fomenting bellicose behavior ever since the election (they wonderfully lost) that put Trump in the White House, , but NOW, all of a sudden, the left wants civil behavior...that's pretty funny.
Obfuscation is their hallmark, so why should things drastically change now?
Just asking the right questions here...that's all. It's also just my opinion.
*** Next up, and along those lines, we have this editorial that claims that maybe it's time for "civility rights":
http://www.journalgazette.net/opinion/editorials/20181024/civility-rights
Well, as far as civility goes, I've been on that train since it left the station...and have no plans of getting off. I'm with this until the end of the line.
The sheer lack of civility over the last couple decades has been appalling, because it runs counter to who we are, as a people of this nation.
*** Next, time to drop on by our "Kitten Corner"...
The "children" were, for the most part, okay in the behavior department. Just some mid-morning running about (to work off the breakfast, no doubt), and then, some serious napping (and chronic cuteness).
We did have a couple birds come by the feeder and both of the cats alerted to that.
Otherwise, a good day for them...and for us.
*** Next up, let's check in again with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry twosome did another "change-up" yesterday. After arriving good and early for "Wet Food Wednesday", they BOTH went on patrol, and BOTH of them totally missed lunch. WTH?
Luckily they came back for dinner,  And treats time had them both in attendance.
Some nights, she will stay on the top step until we lock the door up. Other nights, he will be there, but rest assured, they are both at the patio door before the sun rises for their food the next morning.
*** Last back to the kitchen sink...yes, civility IS in short supply these days.
With the rarity to which it's displayed, it might well be considered a "super power".
It's like you have to be some sort of mutant to even exhibit it.
That's fine...sign me up to The Xavier School for the Gifted.
It's weird, but the Japanese have us beat there...the first four years of school teaches MANNERS rather than constantly testing it's students.
I believe I mentioned that fact a while back when talking about ISTEP+ testing here (Indiana).
Amazing how much better students behave when they're taught manners (first), and how much better adults they become in the process.
Now, you can say "it's their culture"...fine. Perhaps it is, but what about OUR culture?
That which made America more "unique"  during it's founding was  done by people who had a fear of God and lived by His commandments.
As strange as it may seem, those 10 commandments are pretty much UNIVERSAL truths, when you stop and think about it. Almost every culture on Earth takes into account similar aspects of their humanity, and from those springs civility.
A society...any society cannot move forward unless it promotes civility...that's a given. And, if we're not paying attention, we won't move forward either. We might all want to think on that (for a change, and in a more civil manner).
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Daddy always forgets about you on Thursdays because of Time Machine and eating with Elvis, so I thought me, Scrappy, could read and comment on your post today, okay?

The cats don't read this, do they?

Rain on the weekend? Crap, I'll never get another walk...

Do you realize how big an acronym you'd need for Cruz's dad? RBCyDC-APP&PS...

I think Daddy would like him, though.

GREASY FOOD!

You know Daddy's boss's last name is Sours...

Daddy said that guy that killed his mom is like that guy Legion... he needs Jesus to get the demons out.

I think we should send Hilary and Obama a pipe with poop in it!

Cats aren't cute! They don't have floppy ears and only wag their tails when... huh? OH, Daddy says, "Be nice, Boofus". I'm sorry.

I get wet food all the time. Of course, I only have seven teeth, so...

Daddy said, "Tell Bob being nice would be a lot more useful than SOME of the powers they had in the X-Men." Oh, and LOL, whatever that is.

So, I got to go, Daddy's about to make some supper for him. And I'm so thirsty I wish I was Spongebob Squarepants. Do you have square pants? Well, never mind. Bye!

Chris (and Scrappy):
---LOL Have at it, you two.
---Thankfully, NO, they don't, although they have been known to look over my shoulder whenever I laugh at funny cat videos.
---Sorry, Scrappy. Not MY fault.
---Didn't even TRY to conquer that one.
---I think so, too.
---YES...greasy food!
---Boss - All I can say is "really?"
---He needs a LOT of help.
---LMAO...not unless you want black helicopters overhead.
---Nothing to be sorry about, buddy.
---Seven teeth qualifies for wet food.
---SOME of the powers...not ALL of them. You can be nice and STILL shoot lasers out of your eyes...or teleport, right?
---My pants are camo and never square.

Thanks for sitting in and commenting.
Tell Daddy you did a great job and deserve some treats.
(He's a GOOD boy.)

Stay safe up there.
