Friday Follies...
It looks like we're sending this week off in fine style.
But, there will be a change by tomorrow morning (when we go grocery shopping...oh,joy).
Maybe we should count our blessings and enjoy what we can when we can.
Our Hoosierland weather brings us mostly sunny skies, temps climbing to around 77 degrees, and no sign of rain for the day.
Definitely a "keeper". Tomorrow? Not as much.
Now, how's about we all get a nice comforting beverage to start the day, as we see what else has been going on, hmm?
*** First out of the cracker factory is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
JUNE 14 -
Army Birthday
(Salute!)
National Strawberry Shortcake Day
(a favorite dessert - need to get me some soon)
National Pop Goes the Weasel Day
(where's Weasel Stomping Day?)
National Flag Day
(fly it proudly)
National Bourbon Day
(now this will work for me!)
National New Mexico Day
Wear BLUE Day
(they make that in camo?)
National Flip Flop Day
(Hate these things. Never owned a pair and never will!)–
*** Next, and since we are at week's end, let's see what we can observe over the following 48 hours...
JUNE 15 -
National Smile Power Day
Nature Photography Day
(every picture tells a story - Rod Stewart)
JUNE 16 -
National Fudge Day
(wish I had some)
Father’s Day
(always confusing in the SE part of FTW)
Turkey Lovers’ Day
(move this to November, please)
There you go...lots to do to keep you off the police radar. Just remember to ALWAYS observe responsibly.
*** Next up...This is what happens when ignorance butts in where it's not needed:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/06/13/memphis-shooting-brandon-webber-us-marshals-service-protests/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.7a0840fd3594
The Memphis police caught the wrath of the uneducated when a felon was shot and killed by a regional U.S. marshals task force. Read the story and find out WHY he was shot.
As could be expected, the "protesters" were black, and managed to injure over a dozen police officers.
By all means (you morons), always go off half-cocked when you don't take the time to learn the FACTS.
*** Next...Okay, so THIS sounds like a great idea, right?
https://www.wowo.com/im-announces-solar-facility-plans/
Nice...I&M plans a SOLAR facility (to mainly serve South Bend)...all well and good you say, BUT (uh, oh), not so fast here. What about THIS?
https://www.ozy.com/acumen/why-renewable-energy-is-not-as-clean-as-you-think/79897
Or, how about THIS?
https://www.quora.com/Why-arent-we-using-solar-power-more?redirected_qid=5495351
The "numbers" just don't appear to add up, do they?
Sydney hailstorm damage.
I mean, we could cover EVERY habitable space on the planet with solar panels and STILL not be able to provide enough power to every individual;
(same goes for wind farms, which don't really pay for themselves).
This is a great case for "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
*** Next up, time to stop by our "Kitten Corner"...
"I'm not hiding. I'm watching the rain."
Our children were in another one of those "let's see if we can hide from daddy most of the day" deals.
I was hard pressed to have either of them follow me around until the late afternoon (when it was getting close to dinnertime).
Gee, I wonder WHY that happened?
"I'm not hiding either. Just taking it easy."
Anyway, in the evening, they were both in the living room with me, watching John Wayne win WW2 (again) on TCM channel.
That made up for their earlier absence.
*** Next, let's do our last check in for the week with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry twosome were in fine form yesterday. Midnight greeted me when I got the morning paper.
"I'm just happy we get fed so well."
Whiskers was on the back step waiting for treats.
We eked that in before the drizzle started, so it was under the patio table for meal times.
Midnight missed lunch but did return for dinner. And we wonder why he's hungry? Whiskers stayed dry in a shelter.
"I got another favorite spot to eat."
We DID manage back step treats at sundown, as the rain had gone away.
*** Last back to the power plant...the latest Bill O'Reilly column:

Abortion is a daily hot topic, and I have to keep asking "why"?
One one hand, you have people who wantonly take life from a woman not because HER life is in danger of she was raped, but because the child is "not wanted".
And yet, these are the SAME people who decry the judicial system for sending a horrific felon to death row for execution. WTH is wrong with that picture?
From a moral standpoint, there are flaws in such judgments large enough to fly a 767 through easily.
Well over 20 MILLION souls have been snuffed out through abortion not based on any moral decision, but rather by secular desire.
Was there one among them who COULD have found a cure for cancer, or brought about lasting peace on the planet, or even been a role model for young men or women? We will never know.
And I suppose that's the REAL tragedy over all this.
May we learn to rise above all the secularism and embrace a better morality.
Therein lies the lesson for the day.
Do have yourselves a good weekend
Be well, make a difference to someone today, and as always...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

See 'ya next week.

People keep going off half-cocked without facts because the media, big $$$, and groups keep perpetuating the us versus them mentality and so then they begin to believe it. Rather than work as a united front to make the US policies better or stop to find out the facts before you act. It's the new American way. It gets old. And then after people get hurt and businesses get burned to the ground, what have they done? No progress. No positive action. It has lead to nothing. Just my two cents or sense. LOL.

Hello stranger...missed having you here.
Good to see 'ya back.
---You are SO right there w/ the media.
They drive the "agenda", which if flawed to begin with (but it makes money).
---And there NEVER comes ANY progress out of all this crap. The repetition is nauseating.
We just keep going around in circles.
Lemme off this dumbass Merry-Go-Round!
We can (and should) do much better to change this.

Thanks for rolling up to comment today.
Much appreciated.

Stay safe down there, dear.

Honestly, I just realized I hadn't looked at anybody's blogs since thursday, so let's start here...

I observed responsibly- at home. And thank God for that, b/c that Founder's Breakfast stout darn near put me down, and the St Bernardus Tripel pinned me there!

"Facks? WTF are Facks? We blacks, no need facks!"

None of the clean energy is what it's made out to be. Europe got tired of subsidizing it four years ago...

Frankly, I don't remember much about friday... much like monday, it falls into the "stinky butthole of a day category".

Closing: Because it's all about convenience. They could care less about 'women's rights' just as long as they can abort if they screw up. Otherwise the Democrat party would be Muslim-free, and, well...

Okay, that's one down! Gonna get a shower and some food before tackling the other couple dozen...

Chris:
---Yeah, 'ya skipped a couple, but we don't hold that kinds stuff against you (much)...lol.
---I don't recall you "reviewing" those beers .
But they musta been decent.
---FACKS...ROFL!
---And yet the loons KEEP shoving it down our throats...when clean energy becomes PRACTICAL and AFFORDABLE, I might get on board...NOT before.
---I can say the same thing regarding MONDAYS. Friday needs to come around every THIRD day...heh.
---Some things in life aren't MEANT to be so "convenient".
And that's why we LEARN and grow WISER in that process.
(some never will get that).

Thanks for playing catch-up today .

Stay safe (and relatively sane) up there, brother.
