It sure doesn't look like we got any overnight rain. Guess we're saving that for today? It's cloudy enough outside this morning.
Actually, it's already quite humid, and I'm not expecting it to get better as the day wears on.

This took place at the Hallmark Inn along E. Washington Blvd (near Coliseum) around 0200 hrs.One male with a gunshot wound to the leg.
He was transported to hospital. Obviously no suspect information..
Police believe one of the rooms was where the shooting took place.

I like his style...a straight-shooter in my book.

Our kids were once again well-behaved, and most all day, you hardly knew they were around.
That always makes me check on them to make sure all is well (which it was).

"Got me another new nap spot."

Later on, Violet had to follow me around, Gallifrey curled up on top of the family room chair I was sitting in. That's the only time he doesn't walk all over me. I'll take what I can get along those liens.

Our furry twosome spent all day close by the house, and that's okay. I know where they're at and can watch over them

In this heat, none of them are moving that fast, so it's better to stick close and not wander across the streets and such. Too many things can go wrong too quickly around here away from the safety of our place.

Caruso found his voice again, but the rest of the time he was sprawled out on the patio shade, taking things as easy as possible.
*** Last back to the launchpad...Fifty years ago, the astronauts of Apollo 11 blasted off to a rendezvous with the moon.

I know I was still in high school, and it was a much different time in our country. In many ways...it was a better time.
Rather than be united as a people through some devastating disaster, we were galvanized as a nation for a technological and human achievement.
It was a time to embrace the human spirit with this endeavor.

Somehow, I don't believe there was a larger ratings coup in the history of television, and it certainly was one of those "once in a lifetime" moments for all of us who were there to watch.
In today's world of seemingly chronic divisiveness, it would be great to be one nation and one people once again.
