Okay, so it's not raining, but it IS damp out there this morning...we're getting better.
Also, it's not as mild out there today (well, technically, it IS winter)
That countdown clock to Christmas continues...just TEN days left to get any shopping done.
(and if you're shopping ON Christmas day...good luck and what is WRONG with you?)
Our Hoosierland weather today sees us with a bit of early drizzle, more above normal temps with a high around 48 degrees. Expect some breezy weather as well with partly/mostly cloudy skies.

A drug raid was made on a house located at 2509 Winch St and woke up one Antoine Burnett, age 25, but not to wish him a Happy Holiday.
He's been VERY naughty, you see.
Burnett is a drug dealer, and the elaborate camera/surveillance system for the house made police smile, because they knew they'd find SOMETHING else inside.

Coal in your stocking!

Police discovered an AR-15, a .38 caliber handgun, some Fentanyl, Oxycodone, some marijuana (undisclosed amount) and packaging materials consistent with dealing drugs.
Burnett faces some nice charges such as:
--Dealing Cocaine or Narcotic Drug-Fentanyl, a level 5 felony
--Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug-Oxycodone, a level 6 felony
--Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a level 6 felony
--Possession of Marijuana, a level 6 felony
He ALSO faces a level 5 felony for "carrying a handgun w/o a license", but if it's in your OWN house, you're allowed to carry, period. What I think they MEAN is that he is in possession of a handgun in the commission of a felony (drugs) or perhaps he has prior felonies, which would disallow him from HAVING a firearm.
Helps to get things CORRECT, right?

This robbery TRIED to take place yesterday around 1145 hrs at the Public Service Credit Union located at 3425 Hobson Rd.
An employee noticed a car pull up to the front door, and a man exited the vehicle with a handgun. That employee told another to LOCK THE DOOR, defeating the ability of the robber to enter into the lobby past the vestibule.
When the robber knew the heist would be  defeated, he turned to leave, tripped on the rug and fell on his way out (clumsy-ass, too) and got into what witnesses told police was a silver 2000 Buick LeSabre. Three other people were noticed being in the car.
(Try looking in and around sector 45 - we have several of those cruising about DAILY)

The perp was described as a BLACK man (no surprise there), wearing white gloves, a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and a camouflage ski mask (good eyes, people).
I'm sure of one thing...this group will try another location, so it would behoove the FWPD to maintain some presence at other similar facilities.

How much of a wet blanket is this host, and why this is making news baffles me..

This is a total NON-ISSUE, and being a Star Wars fan from day ONE, so, as a public-service to you, the faithful followers, here's the skinny:

First of all, Darth Vader is not a BLACK GUY...he's a disfigured WHITE guy placed into a life-sustaining suit that happens to be BLACK, because the EMPIRE is EVIL and the color PINK wouldn't quite fit in with THEIR (evil) agenda.

I pleaded with them - black makes me look SHORT.

I will grant you that a black man voiced the character (James Earl Jones) who did a masterful job, and was the star of a movie entitled THE GREAT WHITE HOPE (1971).
If you notice, ALL the really EVIL BAD GUYS in Star Wars tend to lean to those DARKER colors (Darth Maul, Count Dooku, The emperor)...it's the "intimidation" factor at work there.

(Okay, one exception - Luke wears BLACK in Return of the Jedi, but he's NOT evil. He's just "making a statement", so there. Case closed)
All the regular bad guys (read blaster-fodder) wear WHITE, however, but they often can't hit a bull in the ass with a bass fiddle (or the side of many barns).
Yet all of this is an aside from the leftards trying to make something that's NOT racial into something that SHOULD be (typical)...for a few ill-informed and uneducated hacks when it comes to something called MYTHOLOGY.

Lucas MUST have read my writings.

Those of you familiar with the writings of the late Joseph Campbell know precisely what I mean here.
Star Wars tells a classical mythological tale of "The Hero's Journey" (look it up).

This is certainly nothing new, and classical literature is LOUSY with similar comparisons, some of which Lucas clearly drew upon to create "his" universe and saga.

Race (and racism) never enters into this, and those that want to "force" this square peg into the round hole of the mythos are trying to thread a needle with the damn Death Star.
These leftist media hacks need to go find a nice big rock (preferably on Tatooine), and crawl under it...and STFU...period.

Maybe if these morons spent more time taking all this technology we have at our fingertips and apply it to LEARNING and UNDERSTANDING things, rather than running their mouths off before they engage their brains, life for EVERYONE would much nicer (and quieter).
*** Last back to the comfy chair...this whole manufactured "flap" over Star Wars is, if you look closely, another smack-attack at "religion".

NEVER screw with the good guys.

Let's face it, any classical mythology deals with concepts found in antiquity, most notably, THE BIBLE.
The entire GOOD VERSUS EVIL - LIGHT VERSUS DARKNESS premise is nothing new.
Cain and Abel...can't go back much further than THAT, can you?
It's also the belief that when you die, you STILL live on...(the Force is strong even after death).
Sounds Biblical to me
The characters found in the screen saga are much the same as many people found in the Bible, as well as in Homer's Odyssey...or Melville's Moby Dick.
And it's the perfect analogy to "The Human Condition".
We have similar people in our lives, and in the world...ones who exhibit incredible good, as well as those capable of unimaginable evil.
The MORALITY tale is another part of not only Biblical writings, but modern day mythologies as well.
Good must triumph over evil...light destroys darkness...pretty simple stuff to understand.

More in common than you think...

I suppose we'll see atheists boycotting Star Wars soon enough? If not, why not? It represents much of what THEY disdain, and yet, such people become more "selective" in the way they oppose that which they refuse to comprehend.
The War on Christmas is a perfect example, and it's not that much removed from another version of GOOD vs. EVIL.
You just have to KNOW the difference...and never blur the defining lines between them.
That will make you strong with the "Force", and one with a much higher authority.
