Monday Musings...
We're starting to see SOME fall foliage colors, but they're more muted than I'm used to. Things might be better where you are, but for now, not that much vibrancy to the hues in the trees..
But, there's always tomorrow, right?
Our Hoosierland weather for today could be called pleasant by most standards with mostly sunny skies, temp reaching to around 58 degrees, and none of those high winds we had over the weekend.
Yeah, it's a keeper.
Now, let's start the day with a nice warm and comforting cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa, as we see what else has been going on...
*** First out of the kettle is out "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
OCTOBER 22 -
---It's National Color Day
(this isn't another gay thing, is it? Don't think so)
---It's National Nut Day
(oh, the things I could say about this one)
*** Next, we started the weekend with a dead body being found near Bloomingdale Park. Here's the story so far:

Not much else to day about this, until the coroner makes his call. Nothing mentioned about homicide, but, you never can tell in this city any longer.
*** Next up, our most recent homicide victim, one Aristotle J. King was not someone you could call an upstanding citizen, unless it was getting his mug shot taken.
I did a lookup in the court docs site,m and man, does he have an EXTENSIVE rap sheet. I won't re-post it here, but let's just say his record goes WAY back to 1990. And he's been working on it ever since.
Since then, he has NEVER received a driver's license, and there was a lifetime forfeiture of the privilege, so WHERE was he shot dead? Behind the wheel of a car!
How's THAT for efficient enforcing of the laws, hmm?
He also had charges for drug possession, domestic battery (2011) and involuntary manslaughter (1994), along with public intox, resisting, and carrying a handgun while intoxicated and being a habitual traffic offender (2003). It also looks like he spent some time in correctional facilities. Looked like he recently got out (within the past year). His last arrest was for conversion in March of 2018.
*** Next, and speaking of human crap, we have THIS story:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/6-arrested-for-drugs-and-guns-in-steuben-county/1539317319
This is out of Steuben County.
Nice to know that STUPID still comes in "all flavors".
*** Next up, let's stop on by "Kitten Corner"...
The kids had a decent weekend, and they got a new grocery bag to play with (it became torn, so it takes the place of the shredded old bag.
Didn't take long for them to have some fun with it.
Eventually, they both tired of it and had to grab some nap time.
*** Next, time to do our check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
I'm here. Where is she at now?
Our furry twosome were not following their routines. They took turns missing lunch, and Whiskers actually as gone most of yesterday.
When she would come back, Midnight would wander off. I had to give them treats separately lasy evening...that is highly unusual.
I'm here. Where is he at now?
But at least I know she is using the shelters. I wish he would as well. Sleeping under some wood pile or parked vehicles is nowhere near AS comfy as what we have provided for both of them.
*** Last back to the coffee maker...I've been following this "caravan" of migrants from Honduras through Guatemala into Mexico, moving north (to where else? America), and this is very troubling.
Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot-!
They (the participants in this "exodus") it's because of poverty, gangs and crime. Well, I got news for them...we have the same thing here, only WE deal with them (maybe not as effectively as I would like to see).
We also have the richest poor people on the planet (and the migrants know this), so that alone become a driving force for these potential illegals who want to have a better life.
Hell, I want a better life, as do we all (and we were born here), but we know the score here and pray that rational minds prevail.
Personally, I'm all for having our military at our southern border...let's put OUR foot down for a change and "just say no".
I really feel for these people, but they have got to learn to do for themselves and not come here for the "quick fix free pass".
If it's 5,000 today, it might be 10,000 tomorrow, or next month...where do you say enough is enough?
We managed to revolt against tyranny and became our OWN nation, and yes, it cost a lot, but it wa sworth the sacrifice and effort put forth.
If these migrants want the same, maybe they should try doing what WE did here...down where they live.
As to our northern neighbor (Canada) which recently legalized pot, I;m wondering if the cooler air coming down from the northwest might give us all a "contact high" when the tokers get to smoking those joints? LOL.
Guess they'll be changing the national anthem there to "O Cannabis"?
Should make for some interesting hockey in the great white north.
If the powers both north and south of us ever meet (here), we will be up to our armpits in stoned migrants from Central America.
We will truly no longer recognize OUR country.
That's not what our founders wanted for us...is it?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Color/Nut: Starting to have a bad effect on you, am I?

Gotta say, I didn't know there was a park there...

I wonder how long it will take people to see that this Honduras thing is just another Kavanaugh. If we can get Trump to bend on his word right before the elections, maybe we can pry Trump voters away. Who cares if we upset the lives of a few million people, as long as we score a few votes by any means other than a successful platform, honesty, or having something positive to offer?

---Why, yes...you are...and I'm loving it!
---Not a PARK park...nothing like Foster at all.
---Oh yeah...it's the crisis du jour (for now).
And it comes right at the time when the mid-term elections are rolling around.."how conVEEENient" (said the Church Lady).
---That's one thing about the left...they have a wonderful tunnel vision with their agenda. Makes it quite easy to spot.
More on my take on the caravan tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Stay safe (and beware loose nuts) up there, brother.
