13 December 2018

Thoughts For Thursday...
The weekend is a'comin'...just one more day to go.
And, we're starting off today a bit on the cold side, but it's at least dry...for now.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us increasingly cloudy skies (might sneak out a sunrise), temps climbing to around 43 degrees, and some rain moving in by nightfall and into the overnight hours.
That's not bad...we'll have a decent day by the looks of things.
Now, let's take a moment to geet ourselves a hot cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa, as                                                                      we see what else has been going on...
*** First off of the hat rack is the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote:
"Each day offers us the gift of being a special occasion if we can simply learn that as well as giving, it is blessed to receive with grace and a grateful heart."
This was spoken by another newbie here, one Sarah Ban Breathnach, who is a best-selling author, philanthropist and public speaker (and who seemingly does not post her date of birth...just like some women...lol), but she does have a WIKI, so here it is:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Ban_Breathnach
It's not a long read by any means, and doesn't give much insight into what she writes and why. Let's just say she seems like the type of person who stirs one's curiosity  and compels one to want to read what she has written.
*** Next, time for our "What the hell happens today,Bob?" feature:
DECEMBER 13 -
---It's National Cocoa Day
(sounds like a good deal to me)
---It's the National Day of the Horse
(be nice to own one, but you need some land to properly do that)
---It's the National Guard Birthday
(blow out the candles)
---It's National Violin Day
(I could listen to Sarah Chang all day)
---It's Pick a Pathologist Pal Day
(pathologist? Pal? I dunno about that one)
*** Next up, Tis the season to stay AWAY from certain motels in Fort Wayne.
Here's the story:
https://wpta21.com/news/top-stories/2018/12/12/police-investigate-death-at-fort-wayne-motel/
Police found a dead woman at the Regency Inn, located at 1004 W.Coliseum Blvd yesterday afternoon around 1225 hrs. This could be homicide #45?.
We shooting (no pun intended) for a NEW record in Ft. Wayne?
It was about 6 months ago that police found another dead woman in one of the rooms (read my archive post from 16 MAY 2018).They caught that perp.
Must be a roach motel - People check in...but they don't check out...kinda creepy there.
*** Next, Tis the season to be "on the lam". Here's the story:
https://wpta21.com/news/top-stories/2018/12/12/fort-wayne-police-looking-for-help-finding-person-of-interest/
Looks drunk to me.
Abdul Jerome Jackson, Sr (oh my God...you mean there's a JUNIOR out there also?) has active warrants out for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle while suspended and non compliance.
Sounds like a prime candidate for SECTOR 45 to me...lol.
Funny thing...he's been off the judicial grid since the late 90s.
Still driving, huh?
What type of VEHICLE is he operating?
Inquiring minds want to know (so we can report him if we see him).
*** Next up, Tis the season to have "people over", but maybe NOT the ones you were expecting.
Happy Holidays!
Here's the story:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/police-find-marijuana-xanax-cash-during-raid-2-arrested/1655155392
This took place Monday around 0940 hrs at a house located at 9702 Hidden Village Place off Wheelock Road. Well, it's NOT in the SE side.
Arrested were 20-year-old Lance Lendman and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Alexis Gladieux. Hope she's NOT related to our Allen County Sheriff, Dave Gladieux.
That would be "awkward".
((Police said "several other suspects" could face criminal charges as the investigation continues.))
The place had a veritable "cornucopia of pharmacopia" inside..
Kids dealing drugs...pathetic, right?. These two better get used to ORANGE rather than RED and GREEN.
*** Next, time to stop by "Kitten Corner"...
"So when you puttin' the tree up?"
Our kids were not a bother at all yesterday, as I set about getting more decorations out.
In fact, you would hardly know they were around.
"Have an itch I just gotta scratch."
Gallifrey was busy napping in various places when not watching me (without interfering).
Violet was just as laid back and took it easy.
I mean who can blame either of them, right?
*** Next up, let's do the daily check-in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
"I checked your backyard. It's still there."
Our furry duo spent a good part of the day nearby, although they seemed to take turns missing for brief times.
"Well, Hellooooo, lunch."
At least neither of them missed Wet Food Wednesday...and hand held treats.
As for back step treats? Well, they did get some when Wifey got home.
We all have this "meet and greet" after I lock up the garage.
*** Last back to the coat hooks...it amazes me what people get away with these days.
Fortunately, most get caught, and this is happens for two reasons - 1) they get sloppy and stupid, and 2) law enforcement gets lucky.
Many others do NOT get caught...and there lies the problem.
When people "believe" they can get away with something, be it theft, drugs, and yes, even murder, they will keep doing it.
This is in spite of the fact that we have laws that should be preventing such behavior.
But, as is the case all too often, people have NO set of boundaries upon themselves...they think they can do anything at anytime to anyone...with no consequences.
Just as we are taught NOT to do that which is bad, the lack if such "education" from little on up breeds (and invites) behaviors that are detrimental to any society that wishes to evolve.
That's why we have those TAKERS out there. Can you imagine how much more GOOD could be done if these people devoted as much time and effort to doing what's right, rather than what's wrong?
That would be a day worth celebrating, right?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

I'll have to check out SBB later. Doesn't ring a bell.

Hah! Now I wanna see you on a horse (and me with a cocoa..)

PAPPDay: Seriously? I truly can't grasp why that would be necessary- it's not like a PP would cut me a break on the bill...

Motels: Anymore, if it's in FTW and there'sa "m" and not an "h", stay away...

Alexis G: I took one look at her and said, "Hey, they busted Alyssa Ivanson's little sister!"

You sure you didn't shut the kids up in one of the bins?

Closing: Thankfully the FWPD's inability to patrol properly has come hand in hand with the increasingly stupid criminals...

Chris:
---I never heard of her until this past Monday...(it IS a brief read on the WIKI).
---Actually rode a horse once up in the Poconos (1st marriage honeymoon)..pretty cool. Had fun.)
---LOL. I know. I'm not following where they're going with that one.
---Yes...and far, FAR away. With 2 dead women in 6 months...didn't think there was a "competition" going on with various hotel chains.
---Yeah, she is one of the (very) few female arrests that looks NICE.
Then again, she IS only 18 (that's "statutory territory", as they say).
---Nope...but thanks for the idea...(bwahahahaha).
---It does seem to be following that particular rubric of law-enforcement.
(which doesn't bode well for almost anyone in the city any longer.)

Thanks for taking the time to drop by and comment.
Much appreciated.

Stay safe (and pathologist-free) up there, brother.
